jagfox
So Miller is bidding a million quid less than Billy Ng..... End game approaching I think. Was wondering if Whytey had time to transfer some of the assets into his own newco holding companies. I noticed Steve Interesting Davis was missing from the publicity shots for the pfa poty awards. Are they on the bad list?

Hipster Dufus
McCoist on Sportsound saying that Rangers players' wages need to be reduced from the elevated levels of previous years. Pretty much a nod to the EBTs I thought.
WeeHectorPar
£1 is a lot of money in a credit crunch - especially to a football team. Rangers could make a bid for Messi with that kind of cash at their disposal! Aye, it would just about cover the sheet of paper, the envelope and the stamp.

Ivo den Bieman
for those that couldn't listen to it, Haudit & Daudit said: 1. The Blue Shytes were in pole position last weekend but lost that position owing to their refusal to pay exclusivity fees; 2. Bill Miller is going down the newco route (although his PR team have presumably come up with this "incubator" guff to avoid enraging ra peepul) 3. Bill Miller has put 11.2 million in as a bid inclusive of exclusivity fee 4. The Blue Shytes will be invited to reconsider their bid and apparently will re-activate their interest should Bill Miller prove to be yet another chancer with fantasy money 5. It wasn't explained why the Blue Shytes are being given such treatment given that they have already fallen at the not very big first hurdle (a cheeky half million exclusivity fee) 6. H&D batted away complaints at their glacially slow pace of operation, saying that everything was "very complex" and "no bid that we could move forward with has been received" until this guff from Miller. Which, apparently, is worht proceeding with "early next week" should the Blue Shytes still be hemming and hawing at the stage, about paying an exclusivity fee. Ng and Kennedy weren't mentioned by name. So IMO Miller has batted the ball into the SPL's court this weekend and is praying that he can scare them into backing down (or is praying that they won't back down so that he can withdraw with "honour" as many suspect he wants to). I suspect he hasn't got much chance of making that happen within 48 hours so it'd be a surprise if his bid gained any traction over the next few days. The H&D chap was evasive as to how long Rangers could last without a preferred bidder in place. they'll certainly be about to the end of the season but there was a bit of havering as to what will happen after that without a bidder. He did, however, state again that Rangers would not be liquidated. make of all that what you will.

greyman
If the spl cave in to millers pish then the game is well and truely fucked. Would they back down?
Ivo den Bieman
They'll certainly give close consideration to backing down. tbh the more Miller gives it the big 'un the less likely they are to crumble. Plus, H&D made it clear that Miller has already had private talks with the SFA and SPL but did not divulge what was said. either the SFA/SPL have already told him to get lost (in which case they would have come out and said so) or they have said "we'll get back to you". a big weekend lies ahead.

greyman
Boy from ernst and young said millers bid has no chance. Also read out millers statement saying he'd held talks with sfa and spl about sanctions.
