Fife Saint
Begs the question, why would ticketus accept becoming cash creditors?
Kyle
Feedback from today''s meeting between Fan Reps and Green, according to RM, - season ticket prices frozen - Ticketus deal terminated, RFC now owe them money, not tickets - 5 or 6 investors already committed, pot at over £20 mill - RFC more financially secure than Celtic within 5 years and winning title regularly - Whyte definitely out of the picture, documents have been signed - No chance of RFC being kicked out of SPL, would result in 5 or 6 clubs goin bust - Shepherd and MacDonald among 20 potential investors Seem likely? I wouldn't say so. The pot of over £20 million bit especially.
wunfellaff
It's ok lads, season tickets are frozen. I'm sure Orc talk from March was about ''aye, Rangers will go bust when Hell freezes over'', so it is possible
Broccoli Dog
I see no mention of billion dollar global investment or multimillion pound 'war chest', or is that just implied in the being miles better than Celtic in 5 years and being the winners forever more part?
EdTheDuck
It is reminiscent of the stuff peddled by those far right nutjobs who run through forests whilst wearing camouflage during the weekends in America. The Orange County Loyal?
Stu
You missed all season ticket holders to get a free moonbeam and first team regulars to be issued with an RFC branded unicorn. I'm fairly sparing with my greenies on this thread because so many posts have made me laugh but that one deserved a reward

As I've said before, all about as likely as Harry Potter flying into their rescue on the back of a hippogriff shitting Cadbury's Creme Eggs.

My take is that he's just telling them what he thinks they want to hear to keep them onside - the Ticketus deal doesn't seem to make much sense unless the court case had some bearing on it. Seems to be playing well with ra peepul though
huckleberry
Is this a ploy to reduce the HMRC percentage in any CVA proposal? Cant see what the advantage would be. After all that means the £8m owed to the fans for the debenture scheme would be diluted as well.
EdinburghPar1975
Over £20m in the pot already eh? Thats a good CVA innit..oh, sorry...is that not what the cash will be used for?!
Richie
As far as has been reported, Whyte is only out of the picture if a CVA is agreed. That was apparently a condition of sale. How can they guarantee being more financially sound than Celtic in 5 years? How do they know 5/6 clubs will go bust? They don't know what contingencies they have or if their banks are willing to restructure the debt for 3 years etc.

black sapper
Believe the original source was twitter feed from reps at the meeting, probably more detailed report soon, but I'm not sure I can survive much longer inside RM. It's funny for a while, but the madness gets to you after a bit.............
WaffenThinMint
Whit? I don't have the first clue what this means. Anyone? It means Rangers are now de facto in even more debt than before (whereas had they left matters alone the whole Ticketus business was still arguable) - a brilliant stratagem!
huckleberry
Thought there was around 20 investors? So as the polis say "if you tell one lie everything is a lie"

The way I read that is it's better for Rangers to be due ticketus cash rather than a future contract. They can write off in a diluted CVA and not have that weighing them down for future seasons.
Richie
Why would ticketus agree to this though, knowing fine well that would happen.
