Dindeleux
@BBCAlLamont: SPL clubs approve new fair play rules. Decision on newco to be taken by all clubs. No fixed pens for newco
Chazza1910
Michael Johnston wants to cry in peace, maybe? This BBC Scotland guy Kenny McDonald's pretty useless. Any breaking news, and there's plenty, seems to scare him. He can't wait to get back to the usual Scottish dross.

Spain
Alasdair Lamont @BBCAlLamont If there are future proposals for newco, any sanctions will be considered on individual basis
Drooper
@BBCAlLamont: Stewart Gilmour says rangers have set dangerous precedent going to court of session. "sport should stay within sport." Have Rangers just given the other clubs greater scope to put the boot in? Hmm....

Ric
I am glad that the SPL vote has at least put something down rather than being postponed (again). The "dealing with NewCo's on an individual basis" is surely a future banana skin is it not? Wasn't the problem with the SFA embargo due to the ambiguous nature of their rules, this looks like the same problem waiting to happen.

Sounds like a handy way of saying "If a big team need to Newco then we can fastrack them into the SPL, but if a wee team need to Newco then they can GTF."

It's just a catchall get out of jail rule, Ladbrokes would be proud of them.

Drooper
All sounds a bit anodyne to me. I daresay we couldn't expect much more, but it is moderately encouraging to hear the likes of Stewart Gilmour make noises about Rangers over-stepping the mark etc.

Wasn't the problem with the SFA embargo due to the ambiguous nature of their rules, this looks like the same problem waiting to happen. The opposite. The problem with the SFA rules were they were absolutely specific and left no room for a halfway house sanction. These confirmed rules will apply to Rangers...if they didn't the vote wouldn't have been postponed as it wouldn't have meant a thing in this case and therefore wouldn't have been controversial. Remember, this decision is just confirming the vote taken during the season. Which is now over. Newco Rangers would start 30 points down then.
