Florentine_Pogen
If indeed this scenario turns out in reality to be as described above, then I fail to see how UEFA / FIFA could stand idly by and let it happen. It would be a rigged league, pure and simple. Regan and Doncaster = venal, blinkered fuckwits. And possibly corrupt.
Broken Algorithms
All SFL clubs should fucking boycott this SPL 2. If it happens f**k that, all supporters should boycott Scottish football full stop. We're now beyond this being about one club and their punishment. We need changes to the governance of Scottish football. The whole system is rotting, Doncaster has seen that his empire is falling down and know he is one of the many who is responsible. The fucker has to go. There has to be an overhaul.

Billy Jean King
What'd he have to say? And as Pressley was stating his objection to the Newco in Div 1 the Scotland Today reporter used phrases like "almost certain to be competing in Div 1" and "rubber stamped as early as the middle of next week" It's becoming more apparent by the hour that while the chairmen of Hibs, Hearts, ICT, Aberdeen, Utd and St Johnstone were be lauded for saying no to Newco in the SPL and as their fans rushed to purchase their ST's, all the time the deal was being done to re-admit them to Div 1. If this is not a done deal then will the same 6 chairmen be so quick to come out and state that they will be voting NO to this new proposal next week. If they remain silent we all know the answer. Similarily Stuart Gilmour was tight lipped today leaving Hampden when he was quick enough to give interviews when he was spitting mad at the Newco going to the Court of Session a few weeks back. Either come out and state NO NOW or hang your heads in shame every last one of you. Anything bar a no to this new proposal and you are con men pure and simple. When will chairmen realise that there is no club without fans. There is almost 100% support for a no to this new proposal from fans of every club yet they appear to be going to arrogantly ignore their own supporters and any crumb of sporting integrity just to protect their own little empires. The worst of all this is that the changes being proposed now can have no appeal at all to a bottom 6 SPL club. Voting for a possible 100% increase in relegation places and to fund TV rights for the Newco in the SFL is hardly a carrot to a bottom 6 club. They could have all the concessions they want if they just showed a little bravery and unity and dropped the short term protectionist attitude. A united front to say no to Div 1 and off to Div 3 would leave the way clear to vote through any raft of changes they wanted on their terms and in their time. FFS be brave, show unity and listen to the most important people in all of this, US, THE FANS. Agreement to this new proposal would be far more suicidal than any drop in funds that Newco FC might cause - it will lose you the life blood of every club in this land. Up to you Mr Chairmen it's your call now - you know how we all feel.
Shuggie_Murray7
I'd be more than happy for St.Mirren to leave the SPL and apply to re-join SFL if these corrupt b*****ds get their way.

Sam Leitch Loyal
I vote for SPL2. Member club(s): Sevco. Then they can get relegated and promoted at the same time while playing with themselves. Ooops...hasn't that already been suggested?

Forever Diamond
Should the SFL clubs reject the plans, the SPL will push ahead with plans to form a second tier which would include the newco Rangers. First Division clubs would be invited to join the new division, reducing the numbers in the SFL and cutting off the promotion and relegation link between the two bodies. Now excuse me if i have picked this up wrong, but they are saying that if the SFL dont accept the new proposal they will have a breakaway, and end any chance the teams in the lower end of the league have of ever getting promoted to the higher divisions.

BELFASTSAINTEE
WE HAVE CONSIDERED FIVE SCENARIOS 1.Rangers stay in SPL 2.Rangers to Third Division 3.Rangers to First Division 4.Rangers to SPL2 5.Rangers terminated or suspended 1. RANGERS STAY IN SPL •Not an option •SPL clubs have indicated no 2. RANGERS TO THIRD DIVISION •Takes approximately £16 million out of the game •Commercial partners walk away and seek compensation •The settlement agreement becomes a major risk •The sporting opportunity is quashed for other clubs 3. RANGERS TO FIRST DIVISION •Reduces SPL income by approximately 30% •Balances short term need for redemption with a least worst case financial scenario •It is financially possible to recover from this scenario 4. RANGERS TO SPL2 •Currently not supported by the SFA •Creates a bigger divide •Leads to some short term commercial losses •A legal challenge could paralyse the game •The overall pot would be much less than anticipated 5. RANGERS TERMINATED OR SUSPENDED •Complete financial meltdown •Settlement agreement is obliterated •Fans are lost to the game forever •The game survives but where? WE HAVE CONSIDERED THE FIVE SCENARIOS 1 Rangers stay in SPL 2 Rangers to Third Division 3 Rangers to First Division 4 Rangers to SPL2 5 Rangers terminated or suspended **SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE BEING ASKED TO CONSIDER? ** •Rangers in the IRN-BRU First Division this coming season •A one off fee to buy out the Rangers media value. (£1million) thus protecting the current contracts in place. IF WE AGREE THEN WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING •Play-Offs immediately, based on current format •A new distribution model with the settlement agreement value protected and future proofed •An amalgamation of the SPL & SFL •A more balanced governance model (as circulated) IF WE AGREE THEN WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING •Play-Offs immediately, based on our format •A new distribution model with the settlement agreement value protected and future proofed •An amalgamation of the SPL & SFL •A more balanced governance model (as circulated) WHICH WILL DELIVER BENEFITS TO THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE •Immediate cash benefit for all 30 clubs! •Gate receipt uplift in Division 1 •Potential hospitality & advertising values increase •Sponsors receive added value through additional exposure •Scottish Government remain committed to our community strategy •SFL has more influence at the top table •Play-Offs restore the sporting meritocracy and deliver additional value AND BENEFITS TO SCOTTISH FOOTBALL •A unified plan presented to the Scottish footballing public which offers real possibilities for the game •Keeps all 42 clubs together avoiding a divisive SPL2 split •Deals with the need for sporting integrity with regard to Newco •Delivers innovation in the form of a single league, Play-Offs and a pyramid plan •Delivers new value for the game •Potentially narrows the financial gap between Scottish Premier League & Scottish League •Shows leadership for the game in Scotland •Allows fans to engage in the bigger picture •A positive media outcome
