Some in Fife on the Kelty debacle concluding the Newco have been disrepectful etc.

I noticed the 10% donation the player was making was to the RFF as opposed to Mr Greens club.

Surely thats a bit disrepectful.

does anyone think that in years to come we'll all be talking about Rangers in the same context as Queens Park ?! tongue.gif

You know, they used to win lots of trophies and play in front of big crowds but all that's left is a Club floundering in the lower reaches of the league in front of a few hundred people rattling around inside a big stadium ! biggrin.gif

Even if it doesn't work out, all is not lost.

I'm sure Messrs. Ng and Miller are desperate to come back in again, if they're not beaten to it by the Blue Knights, the German consortium or specially flown in from the Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, Uncle Al, the Kiddies' Pal, (Hello little kids, hello) Bomber Brown.

What do you think, Sir Walter ? Sorry ? you'd rather spend more time in the Beechgrove Garden with your friend Jim ? OK, but if you change your mind I'm sure Leggo would smooth the path for your return.

You missed out Tristan Loughrey.;)

Well, suitable strips were discussed here a while back, ranging from orange boiler suits to white strips with convicts-style black arrows or black and white horizontal hoops. Maybe we could add shackles as well.

Nah, let them keep playing in the same colour as the Republic of Irelands original strip......Blue is the official colour of St. Paddy after all ;)

 It costs the tax payer around £30 million a game to clean up the mess from the OF fallout after the ninety minutes are up and not including if they had met in the 2 cup competitions as well adding another £60 million on top of the costs. That's up to £180 million just so the sectarian bigots can have 6 OF games a year FFS.

This is a no brainer here for the Scottish government to step in and sponsor or co-sponsor the SPL to have at least a 16 team SPL set up with only 1 home and away match.

Say the government offers £20 million a year to sponsor/co-sponsor the SPL in a 16 team format this would save the government £100 million a year in policing,A&E hospital bills and court costs and many more things like many a wifie and kids getting 2 less beatings a year.

If the SFA & SPL could only see this a an opportunity to cut down on the violence that 4 OF games cause whilst actually getting more sponsorship funds to help promote our leagues as well as getting a much needed cash injection into our game improving the status of the league.

Seriously you can't argue with that logic should the newco make it to the SPL again.Helps the Scottish government save £100 million a year in spending to police and repair damage caused by OF games as well as give the Scottish game £20 million over and above the current money they have. It's a win win situation there.

Edited to amend costings :D

Dose of bollox fae the pigs imo, apart from o/t, they would still be getting paid, as the doc's etc in A+E. Plus bams that would get involved with trouble will do so regardless of an OF game.

OK then how much does it cost to police a game and clean up after the game to the tax payer ?.

 Well last season was put at £40M - the figure is in the article you yourself quoted - meaning £6M or so a game (although I'd be interested in the breakdown even of that).

Looks like she's put the fag out or are they all just f------g horrendous?

From the Orcs ofeshul site:

How come their "females" are allowed to play in front of spectators and their males are not? Surely membership of the SFA is required for both?

I read an article in the papers a few years back by the then head of Strathclyde police. He quoted that the extra cost of policing a alone in the central belt in Scotland on OF match day games was around £5 million extra than normal to the tax payer. And the figure rose even more if it was a cup final or title decider game being played. You have to wonder the pitiful amount offered by the OF to police the area around the stadium.

Then you have to add in costs of court proceedings for offenders as well as any possible jail time given, factor in the costs from the emergency services ie ambulances and surgery and other injuries that where seen too.

I'm more inclined to double your estimate easily there adding all the other mitigating factors ongoing after a game has been played.Court costs, lawyers fees, hospital costs and any other cost attributed to an OF game.

Your £40 ticket if your are an OF fan could end up costing the tax payer hundreds of thousands of pounds if you was a trouble maker by the way the article read earlier :o.

Statement from Kelty Hearts website

The Stefan Winiarski Testimonial Match between Kelty Hearts and Rangers on Wednesday has been postponed to a later date due to the SFA not granting Rangers a licence to play any matches, friendlies or competitive.

Rangers have instructed us that an alternative date will be arranged very soon so all tickets and hospitality tickets are still valid for the match.

We are all gutted with all the work done sending tickets out etc, money spent and time put in by volunteers to make the night a great one, as you can imagine Stefan is also sick at this outcome.

Programmes have been printed, food ordered, marquee for hospitality etc. so a thanks must go to the SFA for having a negative impact on not only the top end of Scottish Football but lower end also.

^^^ Seething

Serves them right. Should have chose a reliable team like Ross County.

Big feckin deal................. say you are a QoS fan who goes upto Peterhead for a Cup tie, gets tired on the way back and crashes on the M90. Road closed, diversions, ambulances, cost to hualage firms, insurance claims, extra police, A+E, roadworkers, etc etc etc etc. Hundreds of thousands minimum.

It is called 'life'.
