Brilliant how the Sevconians are in hiding when there is significant bad news and then come out in force when they get a sniff of a smear campaign.

My attitude to McConville is based on what he says. Does it make sense? Is it thought through? is it based on facts and reasoned conclusions?

But much easier to avoid engaging the brain and just disregard someone because of some label you can apply to them. Follow that route and you will refuse to deal with anyone who went to a school that had the name of a saint. Now think on it. How ludicrous would that be?

However all this sanctimonious guff about the poor miners doesn't distract from the newspaper headlines and other stories doing the rounds about what is happening within the boardroom at Rangers. 8):thumbsdown

You're first point;what's the significant bad news? All i'm reading about is all supposition about anything that may or may not be happening within the boardroom, when there is anything of substance then that's when i'll personally comment.

As for McConville, each to their own about how they regard him and indeed react to his blogs, personally i find it very hypocritical that a person that held a position of trust but failed to carry out the responsibilities of that position of trust will comment on other wrongdoings as if he is a paragon of virtue. As to what school someone went to, that has never been an issue with me, what is an issue though is the hypocrisy from some whatever school that person attended.

That's his usual default position when he's struggling, the religious card gets played.

Is it likely that was also part of the Law Societies attitude when they ruled on McConville?

Now the disgraced bungler has a titanic sized whole in his credibility. And isn't allowed to operate unless the law society approves it and he is supervised.

Like my grandbairn on his wee bicycle.

Takes scum to know scum. Seriously though, discounting facts (which is what this particular blog was) because you dislike the person informing you is not the act of a smart person.

When all the orcs hav finished slagging off PMc , anyone going to tell us where he is wrong in his last post? The part about rangers official website stating the club and company are one in the same?

Looks a ridiculous effort to me. Using "the Club" (and they use inverted commas too) as an abbreviation in a pretty obscure location. Hardly some kind of clear official prouncement on the alleged point he's trying to make.

Not to mention the millions they robbed the tax payer of, but hey they haven't been found guilty , just like McConville!

No they never, McConville never applied for their claims and the time limit ran out.

"A SCOTTISH lawyer is under investigation over claims that he failed to pass on payments from a £2 million compensation pot for former miners that was paid to his firm.

Glasgow-based personal injuries specialist Paul McConville is at the centre of a probe by the Law Society of Scotland over complaints concerning the way he handled more than 2.2m of cash paid out by the government-backed Miners Liability Unit, set up in 1999 to compensate thousands of ex-miners for ill health caused by their job.

At least a dozen former clients have come forward with complaints that McConville failed to pay them or did not lodge their claim before the compensation fund deadline including the daughter-in-law of the late Henry Baxter, who says she is owed more than 9,000.

As well as the compensation payments made to the firm it also received over 2m in payment for handling the cases.

McConville was already suspended by the Law Society before the complaints came to light after being declared bankrupt over unpaid tax debts."

http://www.scotsman.com/news/163-2m-miners-fund-missing-cash-probe-1-1368578

Interesting that McConville also never paid his taxes, especially after his high and mighty comments about Rangers use of EBT's, his double standards stink to high heaven.

Also from the Scotsman

Mr McConville was suspended by the Law Society as a result of being made bankrupt, and a spokeswoman said: "We have received a number of complaints about his conduct and the inquiries are still ongoing."

However, the Law Society's insurer has already paid out compensation to former clients of Mr McConville for his failure to handle their cases properly.

The spokeswoman added that, if found guilty, McConville could face being struck off.

So, apparently, they did get the money.

A letter he sent himself to SoS

————————————–

Dear Sir,

I refer to the article published in your newspaper today under the headline “Ten-year ban for solicitor who failed to pass on Scottish miners’ compensation”.

I wish to point out a number of inaccuracies in the article and trust that the appropriate corrections will be made to the online edition, and that a suitable correction notice will be placed in your newspaper.

First of all, the headline is incorrect. The sanction imposed, and I will refer to this again below, was not a “ban” but a restriction on working as a principal in a law firm ie a Partner. I am entitled to work as an employed solicitor with Law Society approval and under supervision by the firm for whom I work.

The reference to failing to pass on compensation implies dishonesty, and that any funds not passed on were kept by me.

It was accepted at the Tribunal by the Law Society and by the Tribunal that there was “no question of dishonesty”, and that “every penny of clients’ funds had been accounted for”.

Dealing with the specifics of the article, as referred to above, I have not been “barred from the profession”. I am permitted to work as an employed solicitor with Law Society approval and under supervision.

The fifth paragraph of the article repeats that I will not be permitted to work as a solicitor. Again, that is wrong. The statement that I will be allowed to work as a “legal assistant” implies that that is not a solicitor. As mentioned, that is not the case.

In the eleventh paragraph, reference is made to a “fine” having been imposed on the firm, contributing to the problems. That is incorrect and no such statement was made regarding a “fine”. Reference to a “fine” implies some form of wrongdoing. There was no such “fine”.

Your quote from Mrs Hunter is based on an inaccurate premise, as I am allowed to continue to practise, as referred to above. The accusation of “faking a fire alarm” is untrue.

As regards details of individual cases, client confidentiality prevents me making any specific comment.

I regret that there were cases where for the reasons explained at the hearing, clients’ affairs were not progressed as well as they should have been, and I apologise for that. However, over the time my firm operated, we had many thousands of satisfied clients, on whose behalf we had obtained justice. That does not excuse even one lapse, but I mention it for purposes of perspective.

I am posting this as a comment on your online piece, as well as emailing it to you.

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Paul McConville

Fact is McConville is a scumbag

A bit like Aunt Sally who in his own despicable way attempted to incite physical violence upon the panel who ,ironically, gave the old club a wee slap on the wrists for commiting offences which were barely short of match fixing.

This thoroughly reprehensible excuse for a human being attempted to rake up the tragedy of two young girls commiting suicide as justification for spitting the dummy over a tv intro which parodied the opening credits of 'Mad Men' An act by Fattie McCoist which horrified many in the healthcare profession.

Yet for some reason this failed manager and discredited scumbag gets a free pass.

Seriously it's not about whether i like the person or not,it's about the fact that this man was in a position of trust and failed many people and imo the man is a hypocrite when he tries to point out the frailities of another organisation, whether that organisation is a football club i support or not. The article he qyuoted from the website has been read countless times by many Rangers fans,i for one don't need McConville or anyone else to try and point score over something so trivial,if he had paid as much attention to his clients the way he has to Rangers then maybe he could have shown himself as a better person, unfortunately that was beyond him.

When all the orcs hav finished slagging off PMc , anyone going to tell us where he is wrong in his last post? The part about rangers official website stating the club and company are one in the same?

As far as i'm concerned as long as the club continuation is recognised then that's good enough for me,but just you keep trying to jump on anything as innocuous as the wording on the website. It changes nothing, too bad if you don't see it that way.

Paul McConville a man of integrity.

Former client Helen Baxter, 80, said the MLU awarded her more than £9000 last year for the illness suffered by her late father-in-law, Henry.

But she claims McConville held on to the money, and she now fears she will never see it.

Helen, 80, said: "I just want to know what happened to the money.

"It is so wrong. McConville was never there when I called for him, but he was supposed to be representing me."

..................

Apparently Paul had more important things to be doing, like blogging about Rangers.

Was McConville blogging about the old club in 2009 when this happened?

Was he blogging about the dead club in 2010 when this story ran?

More lies from the thoroughly discredited ork bennet.
