hellbhoy
How did this slip to the back of the mind for two years? Wouldn't it be listed in annual accounts, transactions or that mad hundred whatever review? Probably placed into the miscellaneous income section of no relevance somewhere in the accunts.
dave.j
Easdale is championing Ashley as the clubs potential saviour and has invited him to underwrite a £4m share issue needed to stave off financial collapse. In todays interview Easdale also confirms Ashley has been blocked from buying new shares as SFA rules prohibit him from owning more than 10 per cent of any Scottish club. Is underwriting not, agreeing to buy all unsold shares?

hellbhoy
Poundland Some on RM are getting it and not too happy about it. mitre_mouldmaster, on 03 September 2014 - 10:56 PM, said: We will always call it Ibrox no matter what. Unfortunately now all the other fans will be able to call it the SportsDirect.com Arena or Poundland.

actonsheep
Ashley paid £1 million upfront to take 49% of our merchandise profit for 7 years. If that is true and those are the figures i have seen published then that is fucking theft on a huge scale!! Yip - daylight robbery. But, was anyone offering anything better? Remember along with 49% of the profit he is covering 100% of the costs. What would the alternative have been? Handle merchandising yourselves? There wasn't the cash there to implement it with the necessary scale, even after the IPO. Sports Direct gives you access to floor space and a customer base which an in house operation could only dream of. Maybe the brand just isn't as strong as you'd like to believe. Both parties probably thought the deal would be far more profitable than it has been.

The DA
Charles Green sold the naming rights for Ibrox to Mike Ashley for a quid. It is a long term, unbreakable arrangement and he can rename the stadium at his leisure.. Any suggestions for the fat Geordie c**t??? Where Are The Peepul Arena?? The Stadium of Sh1te?

Both parties probably thought the deal would be far more profitable than it has been. Yeh that's all very well but this was one of the main sources of revenue...now we hand almost of half our profits to Ashley. He makes so much from it he is desperate to keep the club trading!! If Rangers couldn't have done this on their own then why were others desperate to get the club out of the deal? You don't think Sports Direct would stock our merchandise if we didn't have this deal?
