Surely it would have best to wait till new manager in place and the Jan bidding started. Even possibly keeping for couple more years and selling on once capped and won prem league ! He'd potentially be a 5mil + player

Rules just don't apply to them.

Monkey Tennis
Ashley knows that if the company/club/entity goes into admin and he has claim over Ibrox/MP/the badges, etc then all he needs to do is let the company be liquidated. There will be no shortage of rich "Rangers men" queuing up to pump money into "their club" There was a severe shortage last time, and at that point, all the assets you mention were available for peanuts. -
WeeHectorPar
There was a severe shortage last time, and at that point, all the assets you mention were available for peanuts. But last time they were all waiting for a Russian oligarch or an Arab sheikh to step in. This time it will be real "Rangers men" who will put up the money. Only thing is, their theme song, "Penny Arcade", will sum up their situation just perfectly.
Johnny Remo
£1m for MacLeod plus it looks like the £6,5m from Park and co is going through http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30634541- so they're pretty close the £8m they apparently need to stagger through to the end of the season...

p&b is a disgrace
It's amazing how many bears are berating Ashley for not pumping in another million so thatcher can hold onto McLeod. In their position it's really fair if any club to offer a million quid for any Rangers player. They should just be thankful to get a wage of the monthly bills

thelegendthatis
I suppose the support of Ashley could be compared to support of a bank. The big difference, however, is that the bank lends money in the expectation that it will be paid back, whereas Ashley seems to be lending money fully aware that there is no way it can ever be paid back and he will get the security instead. Only counts if he offers his financial support formally and the board ensures due diligence on whether he can meet his commitment or not. The latter is easy. The first part I would guess is impossible because Ashley will want his pound of flesh in return. There will be nothing for nothing. And of course with the SFA hovering he will have additional limitations on the options. Regardless of the outcome, it is clearly essential that Rangers cut their costs significantly. The leaks on salaries from Ally to Team Kitmen is all about preparing for the day of the long knives. Durrant has been punted away from any influence or ability to tittle tattle. Mcdowall was told who his assistants are and has clearly accepted he will do as he is told by Llambias. McCullough is now in the 'yes sir' camp and won't be a focal point for any revolt. So, ready to go with the cleansing.
thelegendthatis
Going with the Three Bears? http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30634541 PR morale piece .. or serious intent? Thanks for that one DhenBhoy. It really reads as a PR statement straight from the Rangers boardroom, published without questions by McLoughlin. The Three Stooges sent a formal letter of offer to the board with proof of funds. Suspect that would be enough in allow them to continue to trade while insolvent.

That £8 million needed was based on them winning promotion in May....... not a given, also doesn't add in Sally's pay off, Ashleys loan and any other "surprise" payments needed
