This isn't about people being easily offended, it's about offensive things being publically accepted after being declared unacceptable. The songs, those little folk ditties that celebrate a history of sectarianism, oppression and indeed genocide, being passed down through the generations is at the very tar-blackened heart of the Old Firm and very much a part of the ongoing existence of the two clubs and sectarianism in Scotland. That is is now being noted in the national press might form a method by which to shame both sides of the divide into behaving themselves more acceptably. Moreso, it affects all clubs. I recall quite clearly being at EEP for games against both sides of the Old Firm and hearing individuals in our end, no doubt irritated by being consistently bested through fair means and foul, pipe up and try to start songs from both the Rangers and Celtic songbook (depending who was beating us at the time). To our support's credit, they were equally consistently shouted down and told to GTF - whether they were interlopers from the other side or true Pars fans is always up for debate, but the point is that it has no place at my club yet has reared it's head on more than one occasion. By playing the PC card you're little more than an apologist for their indiscretions, and clearly cannot see how poorly it reflects on the rest of us.
