stonedsailor
Scientists in ancient times did not believe the earth was flat. Santa i.e. Saint Nicholas was real, but his significance became hijacked and commercialised, and have you ever heard of dry ice? We're really starting to become off topic now The earth was believed to have been the central point of the universe by Christians, Nikolaos of Myra did exist but was re-titled St Nicholas after death by the same organisation who believed the universe orbited Earth, therefore never really existed as St Nicholas, dry ice is not H2O it is CO2.

Monkey Tennis
Wonder how Timmy will be blamed for this? http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/4553-lightning-hits-at-auchenhowie Fannies That was rubbish. A bunch of people react in an entirely normal and human way to a very close outbreak of thunder and lightning. The only thing worse than Rangers thinking it was worthy of anyone's attention is anyone thinking it was worthy of mine. I was however interested to note the gallery feature on the website which showed the players relaxing in the magnificent pool at their foreign hotel last week. What with the bus and everything, it's as if they're desperate to say to their fans "remember how we blew all that money before and you sort of bailed us out - well look how we're blowing it all now". That very few think this way however, shows that they're judging most of their fans correctly. Such symbols of status are very important to the fans, even if they're actually senseless economically.

AberdeenBud
Soo550 season tickets to pay Craig Mather's salary for a year. Any peepil at all interested what he'd doing to earn this? Just a coincidence that he made a million pound investment into the newco. Quite a large and quick return on the investment if you ask me.

Science is a word which takes it's origins from the latin scientia, meaning knowledge, a scientist is a seeker of knowledge. It could be argued that science has existed since mankind looked up to the stars and wondered what they were or looked at the sky and wondered why it was blue. It would follow then that any human who wondered about anything and set out to prove their findings was a scientist. Pre-classical Greek society did indeed believe in a flat, disk shaped Earth. Near East societies also believed the Earth to be a plane until the Hellenistic period as did civilisations on the Indian subcontinent until the Gupta period which was early AD. The paradigm of a spherical earth was developed in Greek astrology around the 6th century BC although most pre-Socratics retained the flat earth model. Nikaloas of Myra was never known as St Nicholas or indeed Santa Claus whilst he existed, dry ice is carbon dioxide, dry water is wet water wrapped in silicon. Better?
