To look at this clusterf*ck from the another perspective, what position would one of our current larger/top premier league teams such as Aberdeen, Dundee United, Motherwell, be in if they'd had half of what Sevco have spent in the last 2 years? Christ, even St Mirren would be expecting to make the knockout stages of the Champions League with that kind of money (Ok, mibbe that last bit's a bit of wishful thinking, but we can have a laugh today, eh?)

Amusing though a lot of this is (SPL champions within three years, ffs!) redundancies of support staff isn't really all that amusing.

Has it been worth spunking £70 million in two years (!) to win the seaside leagues? For the rest of us, absolutely - hilarious that some of the bleating about "still needing to be competitive in the cups!!!" has returned a Ramsdens Cup runners up and two reamings by Dundee Utd. edit: while crippling the newco, of course

You can probably add at least another £10 million on top of that, as that only covers until December.

I hope so much, that this horrible establishment dies.

It's pretty hard to digest some of the facts that have been confirmed here:

  • Almost £70m spent in a season and a half
  • Substantial reduction in season tickets make the club insolvent
  • On point 2 how can you predict anything else in the face of boycotts, price increases and CASH ONLY purchases!
  • CASH ONLY!! Jeez, thats a real slap in the teeth from the market.
  • Players they couldnt afford
  • Excessive fees paid for infrastructure improvements with no return.

and then the myths:

  • Win the Championship at first attempt
  • Win PL and qualify for Champs League by 2017
  • A share issue to raise £30m

They can't be that stupid.... my own money is on an Administration of the Private Company RFC. This will be sold to Dave King for as much as possible without Ibrox and any other substantial Asset. Allows the club to get rid of some of the high paid players, gives a lump sum to the creditors and ongoing rent for the forseeable from using the stadium, training pitch, car park etc.

Either that or curtains.

What a glorious day!
