SaltyTON
Do you speak Lithuanian? Aside from a couple of words no, but I was translating words they used in the film into more commonly used English words (that whilst not the exact same meaning, they got the drift), like Envy to Jealousy, etc. Edited November 23, 2008 by SaltyTON
John Barleycorn
Karate Kid No.17(is halved) Starring Artur Boruc, Craig Dargo and Willie Collum. The third in the series depicting the struggle between the Good Buddies and the mighty green empire. In this one the cowardly lawman admonishes the evil green custodian for his cowardly attack on a helpless footballer, resulting in the evil green imperial forces overcoming a stout defence of the Saintly stronghold. This is one where justice is not forthcoming and the baddie comes out on top. Rating 0/10
Nick_BCFC
Quarantine What a pile of shit. One of them where it's filmed 'Blair Witch Style' - shaky camera in an already dark environment. This next comment may spoil it slightly and i'm not sure how to cover it up so stop reading if you plan on watching it..... Why did it show the very end of the film in the preview, the fit bird getting dragged off? That showed nobody was going to get out or be saved with her being the main chatacter. 2/10
SaltyTON
Apocalypto. Directed by Mel Gibson. Was a bit wary of watching it at first, as it is foreign (ancient!) language but English subtitled. It is also not subject matter I would normally have an interest in. It was about South American ancient Mayan tribes. Was very brutal and gory, but the storyline and the edge of the seat action was brilliant. I was very surprised how quickly the 2 hours passed, as it certainly keeps you on edge. A very surprising 8/10. Definately reccomend it. As ubeman said, I will say something. It's fucking shite. That is all, although it's not in a foreign (ancient!) language, it's complete gibberish. It's Bono-esque. So far up it's own arse, it can't see where the f**k it's going!
killiepiemuncher
Quarantine ( 2008 )This has none of the tension and pure horror that [REC] had. The grit is gone and so is the realism. The pure panic that is littered in the original is also gone. What is left is a shell of the original. That shell is still pretty scary. It's worth a night out at least. The cast is extremely well picked in this. There's simply too much Hollywood gloss here. I'd leave this and go to what I now consider the greatest horror movie of all time. The original. [REC]. 7/10 Have to agree with you on [REC] for a very short film i was praying for it to end, without doubt the scariest film ever made.

Gall09
Thirteen - 7/10 Film about a 13 year old girl (funnily enough) who, in her desperation to be liked by the most popular girl in school, delves into a world of drugs, drink and sex. Holly Hunter was nominated for 3 academy awards, deservedly i feel, for her performance as the girls' alcoholic mother, battling to stay sobre as her daughter's behaviour gets worse. The actress playing Evie, the girls' popular "friend", is brilliant at making you like her character one minute, and despising her the next all the time knowing she is just using her "friend" Inside Man - 7.5/10 Really clever film about a complex bank robbery, fronted by Clive Owen (who is ridiculously cool in this), who throughout the film has a battle of wits with hostage negotiator Denzel Washington (who's cool in everything). Thoroughly enjoyed it, and was also glad it didn't have the typical cliched Hollywood themes throughout.
Savage Henry
Waltz With BashirNot normally a fan of animation but this is a documentary-style look at Israeli soldiers trying to remember their actions during the invasion of Lebanon in the eighties. Powerful stuff with a shocking ending. 8/10 I heard this one is fantastic. Definitely the next one I'll be forking out to see, if I can find anywhere showing it. I loved the rotoscope effect on A Scanner Darkly.
centralparker
I'm Not There 2007 A biography of Bob Dylan (sort of) in which a host of well-known actors play the lead role (including Cate Blanchett!) Very watchable, not too many "arty" moments and a great soundtrack. 8/10

SaltyTON
Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) (V) The DVD title was actually "Journey to Middle Earth", and was in fact the worst film ever made. Yes, worse than the Chronicles of Riddick. It was a cross between the worst parts of The Lost World and the worst parts of The Core, with giant spiders and Cybill's daughter thrown in for good (well, really bad) measure. 1/10 DO NOT EVER WATCH THIS SHITE!!!
Santana
Vantage Point (2008) Very cleverly made. Kept you (well me anyway) guessing the whole way. 7/10 This Is England (2005) Just fucking brilliant. 10/10
McMuffin
Tonight, I watched the Dark Knight again, and I had forgotten just how good Ledger is. His acting in the entire sequence in the Police Station is just magnificent. It would have been a spectacular film without him, but he makes it. I despise people becoming saints just because they popped their clogs, but he deserves every bit of praise going.
woodside
zack n miri make a porno extremely predictable plot but a few good laughs 6/10 maybe deserves an extra point for lester 'the molester' cracking character good film for when your feeling a bit cabbaged, no thought required whatsoever, well below the standard of seth rodgers other films though. f**k the pictures now though, could have bought 20 snides for the wallet damage, and wouldnt have to have sit in a room full of asbo merchants
