Wellstorm
Sinister - atmospheric horror. pretty dark from the off too. Not amazing though. 7/10 snatch - watched this again for the first time in years. brilliant. 9 and a half / 10.

RayBees
Antiviral - First film directed by David Cronenberg's son. Set in a world where the population sign up to willingly be infected with the same virus their celebrity heroes have. This is a nicely weird film. 6/10 Safety Not Guaranteed - Magazine journalists investigate a story whereby a man has placed an advert asking for volunteers to time travel with him. This has some nice ideas but goes nowhere, isn't particularly as quirky and funny as it wants to be. 3/10
Nick_BCFC
Inbred A comedy/ horror type film. Four kids from broken homes are taken up to Yorkshire from Milton Keynes by two youth workers. They go about various tasks trying to bond and get them working together. After fixing up the house they are stopping in they go down to the local to celebrate with a glass of lemonade. Here we see some of the locals who are fucked up looking people. Inbreds. From here, it shows a local inbred terrorising the group somewhat. We then learn that the locals put on a 'show' any newcomers who have found their way into the village. There weren't really any scares as such, though perhaps there weren't meant to be. Some of the one liners from the leader of the Inbreds were quite good. An enjoyable watch really if you like this partiicular genre. 7/10
Thistle_do_nicely
Dead Man's Shoes: Story of a war vet who's vulnerable brother started hanging out with the wrong crowd while he was away on duty. Some nice cinematography, a few funny scenes here and there, a somewhat predictable twist at the death and a fairly engaging main character. Wasn't keen on some aspects of the ending. Pacing is pretty much spot on. I liked it. 8/10.

T_S_A_R
the thin red line. first time i've seen it in years and it's far better than i remember it being. i get the impression that the actors thought they were making a traditionalish war film then malick cut it to shreds and ended up with something more like an impressionist painting than saving private ryan.
captainkev
Batman begins watched this last night ......8/10 thoroughly enjoyable comic book flick Christian Bale was superb in the main role, as was Cillian Murphy(?) as the scarecrow now wanting to see the next two(The Dark Knight) and The Dark night rises I love Batman Begins, it's by far my favourite of the Nolan Batman films, probably my favourite Batman film in general (although I haven't seen the original Burton film in a while). Most people tend to go for The Dark Knight over Begins but I really prefer the latter. I don't think Katy Holmes is nearly as bad in it as some people like to make out either.

She's not bad, I've never understood criticism she gets. A pretty important character though, slightly underused though. Christopher Nolan seems to struggle with female characters IMO.
DAFC
http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1760967/ Ill Manors - pretty gritty character based drama from Plan B. I liked it but it wasn't really enjoyable as it was pretty dark. Excellent attempt at a first film and was made well for not much cash. Good music also. 8/10
Glen Sannox
INBRED watched last night, described as Emmerdale meets Wrong Turn, good fun, plenty gore, delinquent kids head to rural Yorkshire in a minibus with their Social workers, hostile inbred locals blah blah blah! Good fun, and look out for a couple of actors from the much mentioned and fantastic "Dead man's shoes". 7/10
Slacker
Full Metal Jacket. Loved the opening to this film, once they got to Vietnam I had lost a bit of interest though. Great characters in this one. 7/10.
jojo
Just watched tree of life - Very ambitious, bold and profound. Overall i think it was brilliant, althoug i can see why people dont like it. For the first half hour i didn't have a clue what was going on. I see it as a generall critique of american society. 8.5/10 Skyfall - It was basically fluff, but thats not to say i didn't enjoy it. It was well made bond film, one of the best bonds i've seen. My brother the devil - i would recommend people go and see this. I would compare it to neds, and overall, i've decided i enjoyed it more than neds. Very good film considering thats the directors first film.
Connor1874
The Crazies (2010 version) To be fair, I'm actually in the middle of watching it still but it's the 3rd time I've seen it. Went to the pictures to see it too and didn't have a clue what it was going to be about as I just turned up with my mates and watched a random film. Have to say though I thoroughly enjoyed it. Second time round it was just as good, if not better. Right now I'm struggling to actually get into it, but it's still quite fresh in the memory from previous times. Not my average movie, but I still enjoyed it with a good, gripping storyline. 8/10 for me.

It's a different style of film but as with all his films he creates much more engaging characters.

It's a different style of film but as with all his films he creates much more engaging characters. Haven't got round to it yet but would like to. Imagine that the story line is even better. The 2010 version was probably just remade to make it look a lot more fancy and nothing more.
DomDom
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two ( 2012 ) I've felt that these movies have went "good-bad-good-bad" so it's fitting that it's back to an entertaining end to the saga. I thought the mood of the movie was entirely different to what has come before, with everything a lot more laidback and a lot of the humour coming across pretty well. Kristen Stewart continues to be horrific as Bella Swan, but Robert Pattinson, again, is entirely likeable, and for once Taylor Lautner actually comes across well, but that might be because of the totally different mood. He's central to some of the funnier moments, including a superb moment with Bella's dad, played superbly, predictably, by Billy Burke. The real highlight of the cast though is Michael Sheen as Aro. He hams the entire thing up and rather than being a mockery, manages to be even more sinister as a result. These movies should ensure a massive payday for him which is good because he's more than worth it. The ending to the big battle was a seriously "AWAY YE FUCKING GO!!!" moment, but overall, this is a lot of fun. 7/10
wunfellaff
Red Lights (2012) Good cast with Cillian Murphy and Sigourney Weaver as paranormal debunkers going after psychic Robert De Niro who has surfaced after 30 odd years of silence. 8/10
