  1. Contractual bonuses could be anything really, all depends, but per match and considering there's the manager + at least 11 players, it could pile up very quickly. Ad Lib points out the VAR cost too which I'd forgotten about entirely and is probably another reason for the chasing it out of Scotland thread...
  2. if you're pointing fingers then Bannigan/Brownlie are more culpable than the ref; possibly Doolan for the subs, too. I felt bad about scapegoating Bannigan after a while (was just fucked off at the way the game went) & did go to his testimonial, but he had a great chance in extra time to win it and fucked his penalty. Brownlie turned very easily at one of the County goals, and Bannigan sclaffed a clearance for one of the others iirc. This as well, yeah. Holt at the kick off giving County the ball back straight after conceding & his pish penalty...
  3. at the risk of sounding like a dee - thank you. (nothing wrong with that, tbf.) Aye, current workplace is a good bit better. Lot more remote working, lot less confined, and the work plays to my strengths a lot more than the last workplace - which, in fairness, was an industry I had next to no interest in. One or two miserable buggers but they deal with other clients & as above - remote working, so hardly ever have to take anything to do with them. Doesn't help that its been weeks since I touched any booze. The awareness & pangs of loneliness that sobriety brings. Bloody hell.
  4. Ach, aye. Thank you for the reply. A few days of reflection helped, in the end. It's not even been 2 years since my mrs passed away. It feels longer. It's uncomfortable with picturing what the rest of my life is like from here on, sometimes. Not long before I'll be the same age she was when she died, too, which is a weirdly uncomfortable thought. Still. I'll give myself more time for things to improve. Euros are around the corner and I've the time off for them from work, few days sunning myself somewhere might help. Keep going. Good luck with your recovery, and I'm glad you're alive and kicking to post this. On reflection - and without going into it too much - some folk at my prior work were complete and utter c***s, including a gaslighting psychopath of a manager that openly gossiped about (what I thought were) private conversations with her and mocked me routinely at my lowest ebb & some of the most dour faced, wretched people I've ever had the misfortune to work with. Console myself that I won't have to see any of the fuckwits again; motivate myself to keep getting stronger out of spite towards them. Not a pleasant feeling, and not that petty either. Aye, I can mind flinging myself baw deep into a job during Covid - never got so much as a leaving card organised for me at that place (although bizarrely I got a nice one from the other, shitty one) edit: can also mind one guy who I was only ever civil to that, for reasons I'll never fully understand, took an immense dislike to me. It happens, fine, but I had chipped in a fiver for his birthday card & signed it a month or two before mine came around - at which point everyone on my team signed it and chipped in, barring this miserable p***k who didn't give me the courtesy of at least even signing it. Wasn't like he was off on holiday or anything either, we were all given plenty of notice for colleagues birthdays. You can make of that whole practice what you will, but its a shitty thing imo. You're not being petty to expect courtesy, imo.
  5. has to be said - glorious sunshine, a 4-0 win, and a refereeing team that were competent (only noticeable call for me was a good advantage after McInroys foul & he gave him a quiet word rather than a caution, was expecting a yellow card which looked like it'd have been justified); dont think there was a single yellow card shown? A good days cinching. Edit: oh, gave a wee terrier puppy that was out in a neighbouring garden a belly rub on the way back to the car and all.
  6. Gutted Stanway had to come off, one of his better games for us. O'Reilly looks decent, albeit from a cameo. Milne... bloody hell. Off form a bit after his injury, but won 99% of his challenges the day and a threat going forward too. Looks bang at it now. Boing boing. Happy Diack took his goal well. Fitzpatrick superb for his goal, ran a long way, round the keeper and confidently slotted home. Airdrie could easily have been 1-0 up with a bit of composure and all, but Mitchell sharp at the 1v1.
  7. Purely due to the loan spells with us they had previously being curtailed (injury/Covid season) and as a hunch/laziness of name recognition, Declan Glass is one of those players i reckon we'll sniff round, think hasnt played all that much for Utd this season and was shipped on loan to Cove recently too. Out of contract according to the Courier, still only 23. Not sure where he plays but filling in for Fitzpatrick/Lawless (especially while he recovers) feels like it makes sense. Declan McDaid too if we're crying out for wingers that Doolan is familiar with to avoid another Wes MacDonald coming in and leaving promptly, albeit hes in Ireland going by a wee look online.
  8. Not sure how to put this - anyone got any wee positive thoughts or ways to look at the future? Getting up, doing my shift, and doing f**k all but go through the motions day after day, week after week is really, properly taking its toll on me.
  9. (if this #barclaypost has already been done i apologise for nothing)
  10. Yeah, good few names in there that are worth going in for. Obviously all hinges on whether we get 3rd vs. 4th and how far we go in the playoffs. Trying to pick a name per team but; Aberdeen - Kieran Ngwenya... legit can't really decide, but Milne is hard to displace. Probably depends more on what he's like behind the scenes Celtic - Rocca Vata has been highly rated on the odd FM game, therefore purely to make any future FM saves easier, him, why not. Dundee- Shaun Byrne a standout name, with Raith at the minute. Hibs - David Marshall a standout name, could be a Paul Gallacher type fix at GK (older head, previous Scotland international). No clue if he's still got it but surely still better than any of our current keepers. Might not get a first choice gig elsewhere in the top flight. Would be sniffing about if its feasible. Killie - Kerr McInroy. Hm. I think I'd be disappointed if he ended up joining someone else in the league, and yet at the same time I'm not all that arsed if he stays either. Of the current loanees he'd probably be the one I'd be looking to keep (aside from Lewis Neilson who presumably we wouldn't be able to get permanently any time soon anyway) Livi - Nouble, all day every day Motherwell - aye, couple of ex-Thistle right backs there right enough. SOD for the nostalgia, don't care if McGinn has arguably held up better. Callum Butcher is a ruthless thug in midfield iirc. Sign him up. Rangers - as per Celtic, Zak Lovelace for the ease of my FM saves County - mrhm. Simon Murray has had too good a season to end up with us unfortunately, would have loved the big ginger pain in the arse to be an option. St Johnstone - Saw from the match thread that he seemingly was very good against us for Dunfermline the other week, so Chris Kane. St Mirren - Alex Gogic is a ruthless thug in midfield iirc. Sign him up.
  11. He was loathsome, but Ashley Cole was consistently excellent too. Cant really be arsed doing a like for like stats comparison but gut would say theres not much in it between those two. Bizarrely cant think of many elite left backs, nature of the position and/or my memory and/or not being overly arsed about elite football. Evra springs to mind, was a great player and all but dunno if hes better than Cole/Robertson.

  13. Baird showing why Mortons reputation as cloggers is so unfair by, er, stamping on Moult there.
  14. not everyones cup of tea, but this was in my recommended https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68782418
  15. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68797201 Tangential, and Turkish football is mad, but its striking that their officials have actually caved and appointed foreign referees. Weak appeasement or a get out so the clubs claiming bias have no complaints for the rest of the season?
  16. Somewhat horrifying that the proliferation of drone/remote weapons also gives a convenient "out" for war crimes tbh...
  17. Rings true for a previous job, aye; warehouse (trying desperately to play about with stock to constantly fight fires while sales fling last minute shite their way constantly) vs. sales (trying desperately to get as many orders as physically possible constantly to keep the owners off their back and fighting to get what they need out of the warehouse)
  18. It rains and it pours The Arabs point scooooore It's all by the by Rangers let their club DIE edit: thank you
  19. My first ever proper, full time, grown up job years back (no graduate, just a few various low to mid tier wageslave positions to date) I got flown abroad for a week training. First day the IT were struggling to get my computer set up and my first hour I was sat with my thumb up my arse pretty much. Then more or less left to my own devices once I started for real, and it was terrifying. Ended up packing it in within a week, still feel really shitty and they were nice about it, said they just wished I'd spoken up sooner. Might have had a fighting chance at it if I got another shot at it these days, but c'est la vie. These days - it still comes in (at work, in the car, in bed, wherever) and my god its hard to fight off. This is the best explanation of it I've ever seen. Hard not to hear it when you realise you've done something incorrectly, or misunderstood something, or whatever. I envy people that can just power through their mistakes, I really do.
  20. Genuinely - before fully understanding football chants and how they work, some of which are nonsensical anyway and have a backstory e.g. Gerry Britton is the King of Spain - thought it was Regular Army for a long, long time. Penny dropped eventually.
