Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Noticed we put the team up then deleted it. Seemed obvious game was off when that happened. Probably not a bad thing. We’ll get Breen back and maybe bring in a couple of new players before it can be played.

O’Hara was meant to start. He’ll be very disappointed. One player that really could have done with the game time.

Was Miller Fenton in the team?

Would have liked to see Edwards get a break

Could be wrong, but think the team was:

Mehmet

Macdonald, Benedictus, Comrie, Edwards

Todd, Hamilton, Chalmers

O’Hara, Wighton, McCann

Just going from memory, so could have one or two players wrong. Had a quick look at the tweet, then went back to check and to see if subs were announced and it was gone.

Must have been taking it pretty seriously to not play Little in goals and pretty much a starting XI CB paring aside.

However I totally get McPake trying to win.

Chris Hamiton was meant to be at centre half tonight?  The guy must be about 5 foot 6.

Need more cover at the back in this window. No proper cover for Edwards either. We have additional  postponed games piling up now too.

I would have thought it was a back 4 with Hamilton playing as a deeper midfielder. I agree if anything happens we are you to have to play Sam Kerr.

The way the team was listed on Twitter makes it look like it was a 3-4-3, otherwise having Edwards listed randomly amongst the midfielders seems an odd way of doing things.

Think whoever updates social media tries to guess the formation/shape - like we’re trying to do on here. They certainly won’t be told how we’re lining up. It’s listed in the wrong order/formation on a semi-regular basis, due to the fact they’re guessing.

We definitely need defensive cover though. Particularly at full back - and we’ll need another CB, if we’re sticking with the back 3 (which seems to be the case).

edit to add: on Saturday, Twitter listed the team as if it was a 4-4-2, but we played a 3-5-2.

If possible, send Mahon back and get a couple of solid loans for this league just to take us over the line. Otherwise I can’t see us being desperate to make signings. We have plenty options and O’Hara and Allan are back.

Need to get Fisher confirmed. Mahon actually showed some good play in his brief appearances but hasn't featured much lately so wouldn't be totally gutted if he went back to Motherwell if it meant getting someone with a bit more experience in the door.

I actually think we might get one or two permanents in this window. That coupled with a loan or two would be great.

Craig Carins from the Courier has posted an interview with Dundee manager Gary Bowyer, talking about Sam Fisher. Sounds like he's going to be with us until the end of the season without actually confirming that, they've been really impressed with how he's done and sounds like they have big plans for him going forward. Bowyer speaks to him after every game too which will be good for his development too.
