Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Recommended Posts

WOW! Hoad the Bus! How come it's Monday at 5pm the £134k has to be in by? I thought we had 8 days from Tuesday of this week - which would mean the money was due in by 5pm on Wednesday 27th March. According to Leishman, it's Monday at 5pm (22-23 mins for interview here - http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/listen-again/episode/108816). Can anyone explain how it's Monday (which only equates to 6 days) and not Wednesday...or is it just a mistake by JL?

The eight days includes the day of the advert so, my mistake, the deadline is Tuesday which is why I guess they reckon it has to be paid by Monday.

I think the money will be found or moves made to appoint an administrator. If its the latter, I would think the application to court will already be in. If not they are cutting it very fine!

pansjambo,

The ParsAlive and Pars Supporters Trusts fans groups have accounts set up to support staff who are struggling to pay bills etc (some of the under 20 players didn't even clear £100 last month):

It can't go straight to administration. It's pay by 5pm on Monday or liquidation. JL confirmed this. He also confirmed he's got the £134k ready and waiting to hand over to HMRC - but they must wait on Due Dilligence finishing first and then analysing it to make sure we have a "sustainable long term future".

you`d think any hidden skeletons in the cupboards and drawers of East End park would have surfaced by now and they`d have an idea if there was more debt than intially announced

is it not better to handover 134k even without a sustainable long term future as opposed to liquidation?could buy a bit more time to put a package in place

Yeah, hand over 134k and lose it when (if) the club goes into liquidation anyway. Great shout.

£135k by middle of next week.

Divide it by 20 & you'll get the attendance required, at their games v Dumbarton & us, just to pay the tax bill & fend off the Court Order.

& that's over & above what ST holders go through the turnstyles.

If it breaks the 3000 mark I'll be surprised.

if thats the case in such desperate times then they would be aswell selling the land for houses.

if I finish work in time I will go, cowden are in greenock and I dont want the pars to go bust.

I don't know where JL is getting his info from but as soon as a petition for administration is lodged in court, it halts any other proceedings including liquidation at least until the court has considered the petition. There is a fair amount of work in putting together a petition but who knows whether that has been ongoing.

I know JL has his heart in the right place but I wonder if he has the skills to be heading up this rescue?

Why are you assuming that this petition for administration is in the pipeline? The (possibly dis-)information from EEP on this seems to be fairly consistent: administration would not be a possibility. We'll see how things develop as to whether that was correct or a case of scare-mongering.

Good news for Cowden and Accies fans from John Yorkston....

Hearing was scheduled yesterday at Hampden for Pars to explain why we have bumped Accies and Cowden for ticket money. Yorkston said he asked for the hearing to be put back as "We have far more pressing issues right now".

You need to register (it's free) to read The Dunfermline Press online. There's some good stuff on Gavin Masterton trying to cut a deal with some Switzwerland-based Claude Anelka type.

Also describes a current deal being along the lines of Masterton retaining East End, Pars paying him rent and his daughters running the events business at East End.

Perhaps what he is saying is that the club is so fucked that an administrator couldn't trade his way out of the mess and the only option would be to wind up?

I am not trying to second guess information they might have but equally nobody has explained why the normal last resort escape route is not open to Dunfermline, I have not said its in the pipeline, only that it might be and pointed out that statements like " it can't go straight into administration" are not correct.

It all sounds to me like HMRC will be paid off between now and 5.00 Monday. What happens to the other debts is less clear.

And what I have said is why is that the case and who advised it was. The accountant on the steering group is a tax specialist, not an insolvency practitioner and his firm does not have that speciality so where is the review by an IP? Such advice could be there but nobody is saying that and I still don't get what the differences are between Dundee and Dunfermline. Both clubs have the ground separate from the club and both are essentially without much by way assets!

You could have it right but bland statements from people who don't have the expertise don't convince me on their own.
