AberdeenHibee
Right lads, I am on a placement but currently have 0 to do so I am starting this topic for some listening over the weekend. I am a keen Oasis/Gallagher fan and I am wanting suggestions for similar artists or unknown but good songs by the Gallaghers. My recommendations outside of their top 10 like Wonderwall, Don't Look back in anger etc etc are: Oasis: D'yer Wanna be a spaceman It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) Listen Up Bring it on Down Go Let it Out Aquiesce BeadyEye: For Anyone Cheers. Edited October 30, 2017 by AberdeenHibee -

AberdeenHibee
Oasis - The whole first album and the whole second album except 'She's Electric' Of course, i know most ablums inside out I was leaning more towards B-Sides etc? She's electric is a catchy as hell song.... but "shes got a sister, and god only knows that i missed her, and on the palm of her hand is a blister" "shes got a cousin, infact shes got five dozen, but shes got one in the oven" "shes got a brother, we dont get on with one another, but i quite fancy her mother" are the worst lyrics Noel produced...and all in the confines of one song. Still so catchy though.

aidan-bufc
Obviously I don't know your top 10 to avoid them so can only make assumptions. My favourite song out with the expected obvious one is Sad Song by Oasis, quite a catch wee number. Also Roll With It, Whatever and Half The World Away. Must add I admire Noel immensely but not listened to Beady Eye as I don't really like Liam.
mozam76
Rockin' Chair ( Roll With It B side) and Round Are Way (from Wonderwall) are both outstanding. D'you Know What I mean is epic as well.

If you want to avoid the hits and album tracks I would reccommend these Oasis b-sides; Take Me Away Full On Rockin' Chair Just Getting Older Idler's Dream (I Got) A Fever My Sister Lover Round Our Way Pass Me Down The Wine Eyeball Tickler Let's All Make Believe (As Long As They've Got) CigarettesI In Hell Would also reccommend BoneHeads Bankholiday. It was on a special edition of WTSMG Edited July 20, 2012 by YER SISTERS YER MAW
bee thousand
Nearly all of the B-sides/EP tracks from the DM/WTSMG era Oasis were fantastic, Headshrinker is playing in my head now. Gave arseholes a loan of most of those CDs and didn't see them again I always thought 'She's Electric' stunk out that LP, catchy aye, but it must have taken all of 2 minutes to write it Similar artists? I seem to recall the record companies were falling over themselves signing bands similar to Oasis around 1994/95 and can't really think of any that were any good Edited July 20, 2012 by bee thousand

In terms of Beady Eye, In The Bubble With A Bullet is their best b-side. For High Flying Birds, A Simple Game Of Genius, It Makes Me Wanna Cry, God Help Us All, Freaky Teeth, Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me and The Good Rebel are all good.

Broken Algorithms
My favourite Oasis album by a mile is the Masterplan.
ForzaDundee
I went through a compulsive period of listening to nothing but Oasis. I've got pretty much every b-side or rarity there is available online. Everything is pretty easy to find on youtube, just look for a list of them all on google and you'll be able to find stuff easily. As for other bands, there's none that have what Oasis had but search though these bands. There's a lot of shite but some gems along the way. Basically all young guitar bands these days grew up idolising the Gallaghers so their influence is everywhere.

JRD
I was a massive Oasis fan until I seen them live and mixed with the scumbags you get at their gigs, it sounds a bit petty but it put me off a bit.
Guest
My favourite Oasis album by a mile is the Masterplan. Wise words indeed. The OP will no doubt know all the Oasis tracks (and the songs from Noel's first album) but in case you haven't heard this yet, I highly reccomend it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7B82Tctw3E&feature=related Unbelievable scenes, I want to have sex with this song.

True at Noel Gallagher at the SECC (So minus Liam to stoke the flames up worse) it was by a mile the roughest concert I have been to. bee thousand
I don't know where the feck you would be able to find it but Noel G did a remix of UNKLE's 'Drums of Death' years ago that's pretty good, fantastic guitar riff all the way through
groaninjock
I don't know where the feck you would be able to find it but Noel G did a remix of UNKLE's 'Drums of Death' years ago that's pretty good, fantastic guitar riff all the way through It's called "The Knock-On Effect" and is the B-side to UNKLE and Ian Brown's "Be There".
