NFL General Discussion

I wonder what Davis' personal life situation is. Will the NFL begin to look at a players background to see if they are more likely to retire early? Chris Borland was affluent and didn't need to play football, whereas for a lot of players their athletic ability has elevated them from a horrific upbringing.

I know Lions OG Laken Tomlinson wants to be a brain surgeon but that didn't stop him being drafted in the first round. Maybe I'm talking shite (as per).

49ers have traded punter Andy Lee to the Browns reportedly in return for a 2017 7th round draft pick. 11 years and 176 games in SF.

Whenever you think your team is the worst, going nowhere, will never win anything.

Just remember at least you're not a Browns fan.

Are you knocking the Browns for being the Browns or for trading for a punter?

I think the punter trade was actually pretty nice. Pro Bowl punter for free (practically).

Yeah, for trading for him. 49ers had spent a 5th round pick on a punter  so he would be released anyway. I know it's only a 7th 2 years from now. But I'd still rather have the pick. Plus the contract they have to fulfil.

They guarantee that he lands with them though. I'm all for bashing on bad teams, like the 49ers lol, but there needs to be some justification.

I read an article during/after the draft whereby it went into the Lions strategy of looking heavily at a players character before drafting them.
