Surely poor political tactics to be all over the press this week whining and asking questions that will be answered next week with the white paper. People are already starting to get fed up with the negativity, including some staunch no supporters I work with. If Better together's response to the white paper is just more bitter seethe it'll only send a number of undecideds over to the yes side

lol

The Legatum Prosperity Index is an annual ranking, developed by the Legatum Institute, of 142 countries. The ranking is based on a variety of factors including wealth, economic growth and quality of life.

This year the 2013 Legatum Prosperity Index, which includes five consecutive years of comparable data, placed the UK below Ireland and Iceland.

According to this years results, Ireland has moved up to number 12 and Iceland one below in 13. However the UK has dropped three places to number 16.

The results are embarrassing for Labour MP Alistair Darling who this week claimed both countries were bust.

Iceland especially and Ireland are both far better countries than the CDU.

These "Scottish taxpayers are funding some minor project in London" arguments are all well and good, but the only thing that actually matters is the overall level of public spending in Scotland and the rest of the UK. The English have a love of making the exact same arguments about us - "Scottish students don't have to pay tuition fees, we're paying for that, etc."

You can always find some silly example like this to suit an agenda, but it's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. You'd get a far more convincing argument by comparing Scottish tax revenues with levels of public spending, not moaning about West Ham.

Average public spending per head in Scotland: £10,200

Average tax revenues generated per head in Scotland: £10,700

Thanks for playing anyway.
