Let's All Laugh At Celtic Thread

Benefits them how? The gap has existed and always will with or without the money.

Yes, the gap may always have existed, and may always exist. But surely you can grasp that without the CL money, it would be more feasible that the gap between Celtic and the rest could be closed to a degree and thus the league could be more competitive?

Would you be saying the same if it were Rangers potentially going into the Champions League?

ETA: of course you would.....you'd be delighted at Celtic receiving that £2m divided by 11 thanks to Rangers wouldn't you?

Oh dear .... the voice of doom has spoken.

StandFree and sjc are so demonstrably right though. The logic they're employing is impossible to argue with.

The notion that anyone should be grateful for tiny scraps that enable the rich to get much richer reeks of such ignorant arrogance that it's scarcely believable.

The argument that says there's a gap anyway, so widening it doesn't matter, could be torn apart by an infant.

The size of a gap that is insurmountable is irrelevant .. why can't you grasp that concept? Why does it elude you .... ?

So why do you (Celtic fans in general) bitch about the monies the EPL/La Liga teams receive from their domestic league rights when you fail to compete with them in the UCL?

Seriously?

What an utterly bizarre thing for anyone to ever say in the context of football finances.

So Queens are as close to say, St Mirren, as they are to Man City?

Fail to see the connection .... other than whatabootery, since my point is based on the fact the others will never close that financial gap .. Rangers are hypothetical at this moment in time and even if they were in the league , they would be most likely at some point in our distant future be way closer to our financial equals than the rest could ever hope to achieve.

You're argument boils down to a financial gap that is insurmountable with or without that money ... ergo it makes no difference. It neither benefits you or damages you ... The status quo would remain ,.,, to argue otherwise is wishful thinking.

So Celtic getting a £20m advantage over the rest of the league doesn't benefit Celtic then?

Perhaps Celtic should join the EPL or some kind of Super League......surprised nobody has thought of this before!

Let's see .. we can't compete in those leagues and don't have the opportunity to earn that money.

You are in the same league as us and have the opportunity to compete the same as us ...

We want to be able to compete and earn it .... you just don't want us to have it ... there's a world of difference.

You only get to compete with these Clubs by virtue of the fact you have a huge financial advantage over your domestic rivals!

Bizarre is your reply ...

What has that to do with the fact the gap between Celtic and the others has existed and been insurmountable since time began ... CL money is irrelevant in the context of the Scottish league .. We'd still win the league

How can you say £20m is irrelevant? Without the prospect of this Celtic's ST numbers shrinks drastically.

@BBCSport: Legia Warsaw ask Celtic to meet in Warsaw or Glasgow to decide who should compete in the Champions League. More soon. http://t.co/JVPYFzxYAj

This is embarrassing stuff from Legia

Give up sjc.In his last few posts on here, he's come out with more astonishing drivel than I think I've even seen from any Rangers fans on the BRALT.

It's the mirror image of some of the "in denial" shite from certain Rangers posters on the BRALT.......arse cheeks is a very relevant term indeed.

Yes, you probably would, but at times when the gap was smaller, the OF clubs sometimes didn't win the League. One of the major factors in the size of the gap these days, as opposed to then, is European money.

There are also Cup competitions and the chances of Celtic being defeated in these, must be greater if the gap is less massive.

Or are you going to argue with this too, just before you dismiss the notion of gravity?

To be fair Celtic raking in cash isn't much of an advantage anymore, seeing as Desmond pockets the vast majority of it these days

Fraser ... Kerrrrrchhhinggg .... 10 million in the coffers .....

Jesus ... Mhonkey ,,,, you ok?

I'm good.

My team are currently three points ahead of your sister club in the table.

I feel a little vicarious sadness for how hollow your football following experience clearly is, but I'll get over it.
