G51
YouTube link for the game. KO is 3. Don't really understand the lineup. Mr Gemmill should probably consider playing the good footballers instead of the mediocre ones. Edited November 12, 2020 by G51
Carnoustie Young Guvnor
Watching it, very strong side and bench. Quite impressive.
Carnoustie Young Guvnor
Quite a soft goal to give away but he took it well
Carnoustie Young Guvnor
They're comfortably the better side here tbf, very good on the ball
G51
What a screamer for the Croatian second.
Carnoustie Young Guvnor
What a goal, game over. They're next level like.
Carnoustie Young Guvnor
Scotland look okay, just lack a bit of sharpness and confidence on the ball compared to the Croatians who are top drawer technically, and possibly a bit ahead of us physically, and certainly mentally. This Croatia team would give any u21 side in the world a game so its not a great shame to be a bit below them, can still qualify and give a good account of ourselves.
G51
George Johnston is an incredibly poor footballer.

I think he's got potential but is raw, needs a lot of experience. He's only played about 2 club games ever so he needs time, with 100-150 he could be good. Small for a CB too though. The co-commentator is an absolute weapon, is it Darren Jackson, he can barely speak and order his thoughts.

That's far too late in your development to be playing regularly. He'll never play for Scotland.

Yeah its pretty late, but he could still get a run and be a decent player at a decent level, I've seen later. As for Scotland maybe, he'd fit in on the left side of a back three, but he's a few years away from that just now if ever.
Carnoustie Young Guvnor
We looked a bit rattled and disjointed now, they know they're beat and playing a far superior team. Showing a bit of character to stick in there and try to take the game to them but there's a chasm between the teams. Just at that bellend co-commentator says we're not out of the game, erm aye we are mate this could end up six if the Croats want it.
Detournement
As soon as a Gemmill team have to play any football they are fucked. Campbell, Paterson and Reading supporting the striker is chronic. Two full backs with little top level experience and a battling midfielder.

Aye Paterson doesn't look comfortable that far forward and Campbell is better deeper. Turnbull and Gilmour would hugely improve this team, as would Hickey actually.
G51
Pretty much a disaster. We clearly have our defensive shape worked out, with the idea being to force them into long balls over the top. Problem is someone seems to have forgotten to tell Daniel Harvie to expect those. In an attacking sense, we don't have a clue what we want to do. How does this team create chances? I've no idea. This is further hampered by the fact you're playing your best RB at RW, your two best CM's on the bench, one of your weakest CM's up front, your second-choice LB at LW, and a whole rake of guys who are simply too old for this level.

Too many players in this team are either too old and experienced to gain anything from it, or too old and inexperienced to ever have a realistic hope of making it as an international.
