Was some interesting write ups about him a year or so ago. Hopefully see some game time. Overall a very interesting and new squad. YES , if he plays abroad etc More disagreements on Scottish v. Scumjob
Just our luck that we have a prospect up front who even if he comes good still sounds like piss.

Its just good that he's there, he looks like a good prospect. Also Ewan Urain, looking forward to seeing what hes got.
craigkillie
I was excited about Urain until one of the experts on the abroad leagues said he was ready to step into Fraser Hornby's shoes.

There's no doubt Hornby was a decent U21s player, but he looks miles out of his depth in adult football. Hopefully Urain has more about him.

We have no idea yet what he looks like in 'adult' football. Like all players he needs to find his niche and his level and when he does we can judge him. Personally I'll take the opinion of Everton, who wanted him to stay, a club in the top 5 leagues on earth who recently gave him a 4 year deal, and Aberdeen who gave him loads of game time over you if that's okay. This is how you can gauge a player without even really needing to watch him much. You have a look at what people who see him close up and know what they're talking about think, and they all think he's got something. A 4 month loan spell in a team that couldn't score in a bucket of fannies won't change my opinion in the slightest. They thought enough of him having seen him to bring him in, and thought enough having seen him to play him regularly. So I would say the indications are he's very far from being 'out of his depth', and will continue to monitor his career with interest as there is no doubt he'll be a good player for somebody and has every chance of being an important player for Scotland. Lyndon Dykes btw was doing shite for Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship at Hornby's age btw, bet you don't think he's 'miles out of his depth in adult football' now do you?
HalfCutNinja
Kevin Nisbett was just finishing a loan spell at fucking Dumbarton where he scored a grand total of zero goals in 13 games at Hornby's age (who a club in one of the world's top 5 leagues just paid 1.8 million for and gave him a 4 year deal lets remember). Would you say Nisbett 'looks miles out of his depth in adult football'? Lawrence Shankland was on loan at Morton from Ayr, where he did meh. Miles out of his depth in adult football? This is why 95% of fan's opinions deserve to be treated with utter contempt.

Next season at ayr, a slim goal machine.

Quite a difference. Any high-scoring international striker gets the lion's share of their goals from toot opposition. Using that as a stick to beat Hornby with is just lazy. He's been really good for the u21s. If Urain scores with similar frequency as him, it'll clearly be a good thing for us.

But I bet you a million quid Craig thinks he's an absolute goal machine (6 goals in his last two years of club football btw) who absolutely has to start attacking midfield cause he scores so many goals.
