SuperSaints1877
I see our Welsh IT Computer expert is launching another “bin dipping” expedition. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-62378542 Imagine a computer expert chucking out a PC hard drive without erasing all the data first? Why did he not keep his Bitcoin passphrase separate as a backup? Why did he not keep a backup of the hard drive? What backup plans do you have in place @Satoshi ? Will we start to hear phrases like “looking for a pen drive in a tip” instead of “looking for a needle in a haystack”? Instead of robots I don’t know why he doesn’t pay for some Morten fans to help find this drive. Far cheaper and more likely to be more successful!
Satoshi
Various cold storage and hot wallets. I keep pass phrases hand written and stored in a few different locations. Anyone can be a victim, or just forget, so it's important to remain extra vigilant. Also I think you mean Morton. I do not rate this guy's chances of recovery very highly.

Do you have something in place if you die? Is there any 2FA in place when you are trading crypto? My concern would be someone managing to exploit a way to sniff out my passphrase. I have never dabbled in crypto currency so I don’t know how secure it is.

Depends what period you are referring to, overall relative to my original investment I am still well up. Relative to June I'm still well down. I'm confident it will rebound, but even if it doesn't it would affect me particularly. 19 hours ago, SuperSaints1877 said: 19 hours ago, SuperSaints1877 said: Do you have something in place if you die? I'm young, in good health, and have no dependents but there's no doubt it's something I should sort out. Provided my right thumb finger is still available that will provide access to most of the exchanges I use at least (contingency plan). I'd be wary of any exchange that doesn't have 2FA embedded. Nobody will sniff out your passphrase unless you store it digitally or share it. If it was easy to do, it would be whale hunting season.
Aufc
Why do you need a token for supply chains again? Are you asking why do I personally need it?
Satoshi
Most supply chains I know don't even use RFID or barcoding - decades old technology (in the energy industry that is). Hopeful current supply shocks lead to some sort of revolution in a neglected but crucial part of the world economy. Could vechain be a part of that? Yeah, maybe. If it's hopefully inefficient it might even end up being the ERP system used for decades.

Would or wouldn't affect you? If wouldn't, presumably that means any gain wouldn't affect you either? Or is it just bravado on your part?
iron mike python
Solana Wallets are being drained. Advice is to send your tokens to an Exchange or keep in a hard wallet. I don't touch the Solana Ecosystem but its not really a time to point score

I firstly don't understand why a volatile token is required for this use case. Also it has been around for 8 years now, why hasn't it taken off yet as a solution for this use case?

A particularly big gain would affect me (that's why I invest!) but yeah if it has average performance in line with ETFs it won't make too much difference.
