If Scotland Votes Naw.

The OBR has yesterday backed up what Ive been telling folk for long enough here is a quote

“Real government consumption remains strong…The latest ONS data indicate that government consumption grew by 1.7% in 2012 in real terms. It continued to hold up 0ver the first half of this year (2013)…real spending grew by a cumulative 0.8% in the first three quarters…”

In 2013-14 the government plans to increase UK total public spending by 7% or £47bn. (Red Book 2013 Total Managed Expenditure). If you adjust for changes to the Post office Pension fund, the increase is still £19bn. Both current and capital spending is now rising. These re figures as laid down in the governments own red book of planned spending.

Borrowing is increasing (but at a slightly slower rate) and spending is increasing.

This is not austerity no matter what the loony left will attempt to tell you. The figures are there, publically available.

So according to the SG budget, the pocket money from the UK is decreasing in real terms whereas you claim that total spending is increasing. Where's that pesky Barnett formula when you need it? So more money to other areas of the UK in real terms and less to Scotland.

Scotland is getting a 300million increase. This was announced AFTER Swinneys budget.

Nope. The government spending figures as laid down claim it. If they hit a bad bit in the road they will borrow even more and therefore spending will increase even further. Their spending plans are all written down for your perusal. They have nothing to do with me whatsoever.

More importantly what are they spending it on?

Its all detailed out in the red book. Go and look.

Its a forecast all the same and not many governments manage to stick to a budget properly so you can probably expect it to increase further.

It's bullshit. It's only increasing if you include the theft of the Royal Mail pension fund, which is a one-off rather obviously. The "extra" money Scotland is getting is generated by simply cutting a bit less than they said they would.

So not actually an increase at all?

I've not read the thread but IMHO when (not if) Scotland votes no you will see a collapse in the support for the national team.

Once the NO votes hits home who is going to give a f**k about supporting a perennially shit team that does not even represent a real country?

No one is going to support Scotland except all the mad orangemen who will be reveling in it.

It was bad enough supporting Scotland before a NO but after it will be totally hollow and pointless.

It will be the death of the last vestiges of the Scottish nation.

And every residual manifestation of 'Scotishness' will wither into utter oblivion.

After all the plastic paddy chat nationalist scots have dished give to the Scots Irish population it is also going to be very amusing to see how the soon to be 'Plastic Jocks; will deal with the same observation.

Like it or not Ireland is a real country, they fought for their independence and won it. Ugly it may have been but that never comes easy. We however will have timidly extinguished ourselves out of existence.

So who will be the 'Plastic Nation' full of 'Plastic Nationalists' - Scotland or Ireland?

Aye no bother. My sense of Scottish identity isn't going to diminish just because a lot of people are daft enough to vote no.

Why support England or Wales then ? By your logic, they don't represent a real country either.
