All Reform are doing at the sort of vote share we saw last night is giving Starmer a healthy majority. I'd say turnout (or rather lack of it) also is "amplifying" the Reform vote here. They are not winning seats on that level of support and these were prime Reform areas, just helping bury an absolutely stricken Tory party.

Says a lot of these voters to switch from a totallyrepugnant party to a more extreme right wing mob.

It's probably eminently more palatable in their eyes than voting Labour but based on last night it amounts to the same thing, big swings to Labour.
Billy Jean King
Just saw Reece Mogg on TV, talk about utterly deluded . He actually seems to think that it was a bad night for Labour as they didn't get 50% of the vote !!! He also added the reform vote to the Tory vote as a comparator to Labour. Absolutely mental stuff.
Boo Khaki
This is quite amusing. Reform candidate Ben Habib spending the final day of campaigning for the Wellingborough by-election out canvasing in Irthlingborough. Irthlingborough is in the Corby constituency. Apparently it isn't even his first f**k-up of this nature, because he also canvassed Earls Barton, which is in the Daventry constituency.

But whilst in the 80s and 90s polite middle classers in England who vote Tory as despite actually being horrendous racists they would never associate with the shaven heads and bootboys of the NF and BNP as they were seen as a bit too scummy. But Reform tick all the boxes. They are now the party of not just the knuckledragging right of Tommy Robinson but also enough posh boys like Tice to appeal to the golf club racist as well. They appeal to what that arsehole Kelvin McKenzie referred to as his typical Sun Reader. Basically working class but owns his own council house, doesn't like the Unions or the immigrants, hates the homosexuals and whines about how it was all better back in the old days. All this gives Reform enough electoral clout to damage the Tories substantially at the next election in England effectively guaranteeing that the Tories will lurch horrendously to an even more right wing position, guaranteeing a split in the party and hopefully keeping them out of power for as long as possible. It appears Reform are absolutely delighted with last night. Edited February 16 by AndyM

These were both very safe Tory seats. Lol, and indeed, lmao. The immediate Tory response among the nutterati will be "we need to move further to the right".

Shannon
Will Reform be standing on all seats at the General Election or do we think they will try to do a deal with the Tories to not stand in certain seats to keep certain right wing Tories they like at least in Parliament?
ICTChris
I think Reform will stand in every seat. The Tories are cooked and the more cooked they are the better for Reform, who will likely try to make sure that the post-election leader is as close to them as possible, allowing a pact-merger.
doulikefish
Yeah the tories will go full blown nut jobs if they get wiped out at the Ge
Steelly
Great to see Reform doing well. They are not far right and definitely not racist. They are centre/right. Racist is being thrown around a lot. Maybe take a look closer to home in Holyrood. Edited February 16 by Steelly -

ICTChris
I know everyone says stuff like this all the time but this election could be a watershed in British politics. If the Conservatives are on less than 100 seats the existence of their party could be in the mix.
