Helicopter crashes into Clutha pub, Glasgow

News anchor: "What is the pub like?"

Christina: "I've never actually drank in there"

News anchor: "Was there a band playing?"

Christina: "I think there was meant to be a band playing, yeah"

I bet they're really regretting speaking to Christina now. They only want her for her Skype.

They got bored and have moved on to another woman who is also an eyewitness.

At least this one can answer without saying "Oh, two minutes" as if she's doing something more important than speaking to CNN about a helicopter crashing into a pub by her house.

Pretty frightening stuff. Awful both for the crew and those stuck in the pub. :(

ETA: Surprised that BBC don't yet have live footage at the scene given BBC Scotland HQ is so close by.

Aye Radio Scotland still just carrying on as normal.

Fivelive been reporting on it for over an hour.

I see this helicopter every night from where I am in Kelvindale. My wee boy watches it. Only 2 or 3of them in operation, from near the SECC.

Read on another forum that there are 2 deaths but have not seen or heard that anywhere else. Hope not true.

The rotors basically freewheel - if they were rotating as the aircraft went through the roof they would have stopped reasonably quickly !

I agree, but even if the engine had been working as the chopper crashed then the rotors would have broken free on impact. Id be surprised if theres no fatalities from this, hope im wrong tho.

Gordon Smart saying he needs to watch his words as a lot of information is unconfirmed. Yeah, God forbid that a journalist from The Sun might get the details wrong and spread disinformation.

To be fair. Smart has always seemed a decent guy in spite of the utter shambles which continually goes on all around him.

Though, I'm sure in his new position, we'll see if that's indeed the case.
