Dons_1988
I notice the auditors have highlighted the new stadium project in their opinion. Obviously means they have their doubts about it.
AberDon
Apparently the club have already spent almost £3million on the stadium project so far, they've not even purchased the land yet.
RussellAnderson
Each time in the last few years we've been asked to tighten our belt we've become a very poor football team. Pele, tail end of Calderwood/McGhee. I understand it may be necessary but hopefully it is handled better this time. The fact remains that everything seems to be being handled better these days so the signs are good if not great .
BucksburnDandy
Another year, another year of non progress on the new ground and training complex. Meanwhile Pittodrie continues to deteriorate yearly. Previously, the costs of redeveloping Pittodrie were considered totally prohibitive. However, with the tediously exhaustive and backward planning system that the council run in Aberdeen, and the total lack of support from the council towards making anything happen, surely it is time to revisit redeveloping Pittodrie. The more money we waste on this with no progress is more money that could have been spent redeveloping Pittodrie. What Hearts and Hibs have done to their grounds in very similar restricted spaces have been truly impressive, and a soulless legoland in the middle of nowhere is totally unattractive. I understand that the cost of it will be high, but given we have made no progress in the 16 years that I have been attending games towards moving, despite it being talked about seriously for most of that time, it surely begins to become more sensible to redevelop what we have?
glasgow-sheep
Maybe we should submit plans for a new stadium clad in glass and cubiod in shape to be sighted in the centre of town. Important to be as ugly as possible and to block out views of some nice old buildings. The council would pass that is a flash.

No, we need to get the commonwealth / olympic games to Aberdeen and the government will just gift us a stadium. In answer to Bucksburn Dandy, I just don't think redevelopment of 3/4 of the ground is realistic, would be nice but added to the fact it'll do nothing to ease the traffic woes I don't think it makes sense to rebuild everything bar the dickend.

lubo_blaha
Just the one? Good point, 5 extra tiers with the away fans in the top one. Should bring us up to about 22,000 in that stand alone so we can just demolish the rest of the stands.
AberDon
Milne harping on about the **** in today's papers. He needs to shut his fucking mouth, things are going well on the pitch at the moment which is keeping the fans happy, but whenever he opens his mouth he reveals his incompetence.
AberDon
As an aside, The Sun reckon we're going to offer Ryan McGowan a 3-year deal in Jan. Gads.

The quotes are taken from his interview with RedTV after the AGM. It's really disappointing to hear after such good has been happening at the club. He knows fine well the fans feelings on it so it is a slap in the face after we as a club have shown that we can prosper in their absence. It is also once again a lazy view of the future of Scottish football and how it can flourish. Just get the big team back and feed off their scraps from the tv money. Cheers Stewart.

After saying we need to find more money it's no surprise he starts thinking about the tv & sponsorship money with sevco.
Alex_14
As an aside, The Sun reckon we're going to offer Ryan McGowan a 3-year deal in Jan. Gads. One of their few good players. I'd take him.
RussellAnderson
Re McGowan, I'd be more interested in what Hearts fans say about him. If a player comes into a club in crisis they can often sink to their level. It's like the Hibs effect. Liam Craig, David Wotherspoon were both proved to be decent players after leaving Butcher/Fenlon's Hibees.

It's maddening that he thinks that way - even worse that he actually comes out and says it.
Dons_1988
Archie Knox joining the bandwagon this morning. They are seriously cranking up the 'we need Rangers' rhetoric amongst the media etc now. Can only see it getting worse.
10menwent2mow
With the AECC moving to Bucksburn I'd have thought the club might've looked into the current AECC site for the new stadium.
