BucksburnDandy
Desperately sad news. A total gentleman and did some superb work helping to build the community trust. RIP Duncan Skinner

Absolutely gutted for them, 63 is no age at all.. Duncan didn't get anywhere near the amount of credit he deserved for his work with the AFCCT amongst several other charities. f**k cancer.
DukDukGoose
Probably getting well ahead of myself here but MacKenzie looks a really good prospect. If the lower leagues weren't postponed there's a good chance he sees out the season at Forfar before getting released! I can see why we’d be reluctant to play both at the same time in a back 4 though (at the moment).

Just thought about this after the game and remembered that sometimes football is about luck and timing more than anything else.

Didn't Dave Cormack say at the Q+A that the plan was for MacKenzie to spend this season at Atlanta?

Yeah but that fell through due to Covid. Then he was sent on loan to Forfar. He'll be 21 at the beginning of next season. Not many boys are kept on until then without playing a minute.

I reckon if McInnes had stayed he would have probably been freed this summer

Agree with that. It's a real sliding doors moment for the lad. He looks a prospect on limited evidence, but enough to give him an extended run imo, and make a call about the left back spot in the summer. Plays with a freedom that Tosher on RedTV jokingly commented "we'll soon knock that out of him". Granted got a few minor mistakes in him, but he's still young, and it's all about how quickly he learns from those mistakes. Also, I thought Hoban was absolutely back to his best today.

lubo_blaha
He’s also spent more time in the 2nd tier in the last 10 days than AFC have in 116 years.

Guest Bob Mahelp
I said last week that what we desperately needed was a couple of scrappy, hard fought 1-0 wins, to try and give the team some momentum and confidence. One came along today, and I'd settle for the same next weekend. The cup game is now huge for the club....a win and we've got a home quarter final against an Arab side that we definitely owe a thrashing/flukey narrow defeat.

tarapoa
As a club, we're not so naive as to realise in 100+ seasons, we were never going to have that one particular 'season from hell'. Thereby the club chose the season where it was determined before the first ball was kicked that there was no automatic relegation to try a wee experiment with a rather eccentric Danish manager, who'd had reasonable success at a couple of big clubs. The Edinburgh and Dundee clubs meanwhile still spend their years yo-yo'ing between divisions.

There was going to be play offs. We had a pretty good cup record that season.

I thought both Considine and especially Hoban were much better than recent weeks. On the topic of centre-backs, did Sheerin mention anything about where Taylor was today? Injured, or down in England finalising a contract?
