Section X will be the official Singing Section next season, sanctioned by the club!

Think this is a terrific idea, get a section with flags, season ticket holders who want to get an atmosphere going, almost like having an away end within Pittodrie. Cue X Factor jokes...

The best bit is the taking out of the fence in the middle.

Meaning the reduced/halved allocation that Celtic received earlier this season will now be a permanent feature.

Excellent idea which all clubs should adopt. We did it for our title winning season and the match day experience has been far better since.

I was about to post about that, that is the best part of that whole article.

"The removal of the segregation fence between sections T & V in the South Stand will also bring supporters closer together next season and we hope that this will make it easier for the vocal support created by Section X to spread throughout the stadium."

Why?

One of the reasons that the unofficial section was put in the RDU was so that the noise would carry. Putting it in section X, where the roof barely covers half of the section, and there is a big empty space on one side won't help.

Kudos to the club for making a positive step at Pittodrie and listening to the fans. While the ideal place to put those who wish to stand (like myself) and create a racket (indulge now and again but not really a singer at games) would be the Merkland, the upheaval to move the kids into a more suitable area is probably too much given that we won't be at Pittodrie very much longer.

The advantage to Section X is that it's close to the game, you can actually see the game (which is the reason I won't go to the RDU) and it is close to other standers in Section Y, meaning that standing doesn't get on other people's goat. It's perhaps not the ideal solution, but it's a big step forward in relations with the fans. The smaller number of season tickets in Section X makes it logistically easier to accomodate.

Removing the fence between Sections T & V is superb, seeing the Ugly Sisters allocation cut to that of any other club is another positive step away from cow towing to them and giving up the best seats in the house to them. Surprised Celtic weren't offered that section for the upcoming game if they can win the league up here, but having less of them in the ground is always good. Hopefully we can keep any of them out the home end that afternoon.

Will likely move my season book there in summer.

Apparently Danny Rogers will be signing for us in the summer. Thoughts?

There's been at least one Sons fan on here saying Rogers has been fantastic for them this season. If he's getting moved on and not being asked to challenge Clangers/Brown, it would seem the coaching staff don't share that opinion.

danny rogers would cost a transfer fee if he is going anywhere?

further more when caley beat celtic he was bleating on twitter about reduced holidays (presumably assuming afc are in europa QR1) so presumably is staying at AFC?
