Mark Connolly
Presumably whoever Legia beat in the last round are "monitoring the situation" (St Pats I think?), since Legia's argument is that he had served his ban but there was a clerical error. That, however, would mean that Legia effectively had 25 players to choose from, when they should only have had 24 (or effectively 26 instead of 25), which would be an unfair advantage over their opponents, not to mention any other teams in CL or EL qualifying rounds who may have been eliminated when they followed the procedures correctly! With the punishment clearly written in black and white, it's difficult to imagine UEFA will change their decision, even if it's just to reduce the punishment to a 2-0 win or whatever. It could be an absolute minefield for them, and that's in the unlikely even of UEFA admitting they were possibly maybe a wee bit wrong. The only thing that is clear is that the rules for next season will be absolutely explicit on the protocol in this sort of situation!

They said on the radio at the weekend that Legia never filled their 25 man squad tho, they just never sent off the paperwork. (??)

Clyde01
If Celtic lose to maribor and legia beat aktobe both teams will be in the europa league group stage. Imagine they are then drawn in the same group. #awkward
