Sportsound Watch

Crichton has that thing where even when she's agreeing with someone, it can come across as if she's arguing with them and having a go which, when combined with Willie Miller (who does the same thing) can lead to some mind numbingly dull, occasionally heated debates about absolutely nothing with two/three people who are all arguing the same point.

At this stage, anyone tuning in to Sportsound or OAM expecting anything other than dullards shouting over each other to make some nonsensical or irrelevant point only has themselves to blame.

Sadly, unless the BBC has a complete turnaround in their ideas of "people only listen, watch or read for the Old Firm content" then its very unlikely to change.

Guillem Balague being half-ridiculed for saying Benzema is the best player in the world and Courtois is in the top three.

Sportsound pondering who else makes up his top 3. Pat Bonner adds that they're 'all Spanish players, no doubt'.

This will be news to Benzema and Courtois.

Pat Bonner.
Seems a pleasant enough bloke, but he’s as thick as stovies in a flask.

Favourite input from recent weeks is arguing that former professionals need an avenue into refereeing whilst 1) all agreeing they wouldn't do it, and 2) not realising that there already exists a fast-track process for promising officials, and 3) that there are former junior, and senior footballers already making their way up through the pyramid*

*One former player was even literally interviewed and his pathway written up into a video and an article on the BBC's own website

What did McIntyre say?

It was almost funny

Said “No Open All Mics today” as quiet as a mouse, almost under his breath then proudly announced live commentary from Ibrox

Cowan asked how they decided on that game and Kenny spluttered about how it will be an interesting game as Dundee United are much improved

Absolute pantomime

What’s the rationale for no open all mics, aside from your suggestion?

Too many people fawning over a wooden box?

It wouldn't be much of a surprise at this point if it's just an editorial decision to ignore all games that don't involve one of the arse cheeks.

After all, they already did it in the last round of the league cup despite both of their ties being on the TV.

Absolutely no idea. I'm not listening to it.

It's possibly the least interesting game in Scotland today.

Aye, the wind is blowing in a certain direction.
