Went and watched the Mo v ICT game and even then the Inverness support were complaining about the money certain individuals were getting. To say they were unaware that the club was being run badly and in danger of collapsing is not true. They must have had an idea that they were running huge losses to attract the players and managers they recruited. A club built on very shaky foundations.

Have to say, spoke to a guy from Inverness,( not a Caley fan), why he wasn’t a Caley fan, was another story, but he did say they’re was a knowing among Caley fans, the club was losing money, but he said it was obvious they didn’t appear to care, as they would get back to the top flight, now I understand, this properly wasn’t all Caley fans

Me neither - I’ve gotten over the mehness of it but for me the issue is I’m no really sure what kind of central midfielder he is. He’s not really great at anything - in honesty though he’s probably better than MacKinnon (hopefully he’s nowhere near us) and Jacobs. You’d hope that the other 6/7 signings, subbie keeper aside are a lot less meh.

Was pretty well known among ICT fans that Dunc was on 5k a week

I heard it was actually £6k, but hey what's another grand a week

If he’s seen has a squad player, why the hell give him 2 yrs, a year would have been enough, I have my own thoughts on multi year contracts, for part time players, that’s for another day

I don't mind 2 year contracts as it allows you to plan and have some squad continuity going forward. It has worked well for us mainly with the part time players we've signed over the last 10 years.

It's a b*****d when you sign duds on 2 year deals though: Marvin Bartley, Jake Hutchinson and Kyle Doherty being our latest examples.

Yeah it absolutely won't be 100% hit rate but overall helped us keep a very steady squad in place and not have to start pre season with 3 signed players which has happened in the past

Callaghan definitely won’t be a dud he’ll be absolutely fine but I would be very surprised if he’s anything more than that. The guy always frustrated me as he looked like he had a really good left foot and worked hard but he never had any really distinguishing style as a centre midfielder, not a holding, defensive minded, work horse, playmaker, goal scoring midfielder or an attacking midfielder. He was just there and ok.

Will see but it’s a pretty uninspiring signing on the face of it

Given that we seem determined to go 4-4-2, maybe we are looking for more general players in the middle, rather than specialist defensive or attacking midfielders?

If we are going to go 4-4-2, (which I doubt, once he sees everyone else playing virtually a 5 across the middle), I would prefer a b*****d as one of my middle 2, who will eventually play in the middle of a centre mid 3

Personally, I think McIntyre will resign after a terrible start to the season, and then we're going to be left high and dry with an unsuitable squad, but apparently that kind of negativity is not welcomed on here.  So I have no comment.

Careful now - I got red dotted by one of our fans earlier today for saying I’d be happy with 6th place next season. Obviously I want more but mid table consolidation would be ok imo. I guess anything but OTT positivity, even before a ball has been kicked, is seen as being negative.

Calum Gallagher signing interview is up on YouTube.

Looks brilliant in that new kit and the maroon to be quite honest with you.

eta - speaks highly of Jim, was excited by the players we were trying to sign (maybe not meaning Callaghan) says he had talked to all of the ex AFC players who had said they got treated brilliantly by the club when they were here (despite what that fkn rocket Ali Adams says).

Also says his style of play is playing in the pivot role, which he described as dropping a bit deeper and starting attacks and finishing attacks - presumably by getting in the box and taking chances. If that’s the case then that’s kind of what McKenna has been doing. McKenna has played as a second striker or advanced midfielder for years and Dick regularly went 2 uptop especially in L1 and L2. So no idea why McIntyre couldn’t try that next season.

I for one am happy with us signing  Liam Callaghan, he must be decent as Stewart Petrie and the Mo wanted to keep him and offered him a new contract plus it looks like (going by their fans comments) that Kelty Hearts thought they were signing him so he must be "decent" at League 1 level.

I would class him as a "squad" player and not a nailed on starter but a good Scottish lower league experienced player which is better than unknown south of England strangers.

Squad is building up nicely but sorry for repeating myself but each day there is no announcement of an experienced Goalkeeper the more concerned i am getting.

I am not a fan of a young Goalkeeper on loan and i cannot think of a Goalie like this that has ever been a success for us?

Also i am maybe in the minority as if we finished in 6th position i would be disappointed, imo we MUST be finishing in the top 4 or the Managers job must be on the line as that is what seemed to be crystal clear from the Manager himself the AFC Board and the fans that were there at the recent Q&A.

C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
