Ludo*1
Celtic in trying to take the piss out of a 'diddy' club shocker. Glad we've told them to bolt. They'll have to act soon because as soon as the English clubs get involved (If they do) they'll have no chance and I don't mean in terms of us accepting a bid, I mean the money they'll be able to offer Hendry.

Shadow Play
McCann is 100% correct. If you want a player pay the going rate. Boyata went to Celtic for £1.5M and Hendry is every bit as good, with more potential IMO.

RossDee01
Celtic are cheeky c***s and the club should tell them to f**k off after that. Clearly trying to take the piss. Would rather get less money from an English side tbh.
Chateau Lafite
I thought Neil McCann was completely reasonable in that Press Conference. He is completely right in saying that it is the intrinsic value of the player not the status of the selling club that must determine the price. Celtic, as well as Rangers, have over the years purchased good players very cheaply from Scottish sides and subsequently paid those players a lot of money to get splinters in their arse, being wood welded to the once prevalent bench . Scott Allan is a perfect example. I know and completely follow that professional footballers want to be paid as much as possible, yet an arse with skelfs like a hedghog's back for most guys who want to kick the ball must be demotivating despite the loadsamoney. When Hendry goes, please let it be south.
senorsoupe
I thought Celtic contacted Dundee about Hendry a few weeks ago and the two clubs failed to come to an agreement? Either way Celtic and Dundee have different valuations of a player, did Celtic know what Dundee's valuation was before making the offer? That is not clear from McCann's comments. It's not exactly a rare occurrence for two clubs to have different valuations on a player and not unusual for the deal not to be made. Also to note Celtic haven't been going around to the media trying to unsettle Hendry, the offer was made privately to Dundee and obviously rejected.

This move has been on the cards since Brendan Rodgers spoke out about Hendry after our game at Parkhead. Brendan appears to be good at talking about other clubs, maybe Dundee should start talking to the press about Celtic players such as Dembele or Tierney moving on to further their careers b

Liam Lindsay was younger, better and in most people's team of the year last season and in the summer he netted Partick Thistle £350k how on earth is Jack Hendry worth 4-5 times what Lindsay was? You bring up Boyata, but he had played in the premier league, eredivise and had been called up for the Belgium national team before his move to us.

We have no need to sell, we have the player if they want him meet our price it’s as simple as that, we could have put a stupid value on any of our players if you want him, have him but you’ll bloody well pay for it

Some guy mentioned a few pages pages back the fact we the paid 4 million for Ntcham as a basis for Hendrys valuation. Ignoring that whilst he was playing in Serie A and for the french u21s, Hendry was playing league 1 football and is also older, they aren’t the brightest bless them.

locheedfcno1
Typical Celtic biscuit tin mentality. Different story when they are selling one of their players to England though. Wanting top dough. p***ks
Drew Brees
Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers also wants to push through a deal for Dundee defender Jack Hendry before Wednesday night's transfer deadline. The Scottish champions have already opened the bidding for the 22-year-old, but a £500,000 offer was rejected after Dens Park boss Neil McCann branded it 'very low.'Sportsmail first revealed Celtic's interest in Hendry back in December when he attended the Champions League defeat to Anderlecht alongside Morgan as a guest of the club. The young Scottish centre-half, who joined Dundee on a two-year deal from Wigan last August, has made 28 appearances for the Dark Blues who have slapped a £1.5million price tag on his head. Celtic believe that valuation is excessive. However, with Rodgers keen to secure a deal before the window closes, further discussions have taken place in the last 48 hours and a second bid is anticipated.'There's been a bid, a low bid — very low — but nothing since,' said McCann on Friday. 'They were told it (the offer) wasn't enough and that will be the message if it continues in that vein.
