There’ll be a few Dundee fans that called for sanctions at the news Ibrox wouldn’t be ready for the start of the season rethinking their comments 😅

Do you think you'll be okay groundsharing with Queens Park all season?

Doc saying Reilly's strained his hamstring, so that'll be another few weeks out for him. Palmer-Houlden has recovered from his knock though and will be available for tomorrow.

What a load of shite, so you can't sit in the front rows because of 'health & safety'? but the main stand is fine with its maze of narrow passage ways and stairwells, a total death trap. IMO.

When we got the shed the front rows were sold - not sure why it’s deemed unsafe for Utd fans tbh

Obviously not, because this is part of the season.

This is probably a more cost effective way for us to run league cup group games tbh and I’d be all for us moving them going forward - even to local junior grounds.

Will cost less to steward/police, utilities will be cheaper and league cup crowds are always shite for what are effectively glorified friendlies anyway - also gives a wee cash boost to our angus neighbours in their quest to return to league football.

win/win imo.

It's not a criticism, it makes no difference and I don't understand people getting annoyed about it (apart from the ridiculously short notice for supporters). However, it's wrong to say Dens will be ready for the start of the season when the season has started and it isn't ready.

Is it not the case that Dens is ready, but Dundee have just decided not to play there in the cup?

Given that the club themselves said it was to make sure the pitch was ready for the league season, I wouldn't say so. It might be playable at a push, but it's not ready otherwise they wouldn't be sucking up the extra costs of renting another ground.

We’ve got suspended fines hanging over us if there’s anymore postponements. Giving the new pitch another couple of weeks to bed in surely makes sense. Going to Brechin will cost us money. Ground rent and lower crowds. They’re not doing it for no reason.

I didn’t say that.

It's not shite at all. They're running a business and stadium maintenance is a massive part of that. It will paid for through various avenues like ticket sales etc.

Considering what you get out of seeing your own team then I don't mind paying an extra fiver or so to see a game as its f**k all in the grand scheme of things.

£5 x 18 home/away games = £90 net of tax = c. £150 gross (depending on what you earn) x 2 (assuming you go with a family member) = £300 per annum of income consumed from increases like this.

Dundee is not a wealthy city and £300 to watch relatively sub-standard football (I love Dundee but can admit they aren't going to win the Champions League any time soon) in a decrepit stadium just can't stack up for a lot of people, and understandably so. You might find sums like this "f**k all" but it's easy to see why a lot of people will stop going.

Stuffing them on 2nd January with an old Olympia Cannonball style hooleys-tear laden exit drill as the Derry mocks is much better viewing though.

We shouldn't be going all Old Firmy. Let the DABs play the moron act and we'll continue to be the shining lights in this Derby that's spanned back decades. Utd can cheer their allocation cut - it can be a shining light in a depressing season for them.

Dens only has a few years left before we move onto bigger and better things; let's end the era of this stadium that spans back in our generations with the trouncing of the Filth across the road and keep the dynamics of the game the way it's been since our past bloodlines stood in the same place (at least since the gloryhunters decided to cross the road and joined the influx from East Angus and beyond).

Thank you.

You ok?

There comes a point though where it's just not possible to shell out that amount of money any more and not through any lack of will.  The prices are becoming too much just for a single adult ticket, but the cost of also bringing kids is crazy for the average person even before adding food etc and if they don't get the football bug as a kid it'll be near impossible to attract them as an adult.

It was only a few years ago that tickets started racing away from £20 and people were campaigning for them to be fixed at that level.  Suddenly it's deemed acceptable that we are approaching £40?!  In 10 years' time are we going to be paying £50 for a run of the mill Scottish football match?

We should all be boycotting the dump with their unfavourable pricing and messing about with allocations.

Dundee Utds financial woes shouldn't take precedence over a derby that has spanned through the generations.

Watch it in your local pubs or in your house. There's a good away game at Hibs a couple of weeks later where you can enjoy a Saturday out in the capital without having to see a mass congregation of wummin and children singing Love is in the Air and doing the slosh to Beautiful Sunday.

Thank you.
