it is the only paper in Scotland that gives voice to 45% of the voters in the last referendum

It's insulting to any reasonable person in that 45% to say that that rag is their voice. It's like saying The Mirror is my voice because I voted Labour at the last election. It's not news in The National, it's just propaganda.

it is news slanted towards those who believe in Independence. I presume as you hate that idea you don't buy the National so no idea why you are getting upset by it. And as for you saying it is propaganda, we had every news outlet possible, including the BBC, pouring our propaganda against the YES side in the referendum. If the National can go just a small way to try and redress that balance it can only be a good thing

So, no different from the Daily Record, the Daily Mail or the Telegraph then? The Record in particular is nothing more than re-badged Scottish Labour election literature.

What time do the results start coming through... Can't get the Friday off work... Hit my bed after work and then get up early doors?

This was the expected times for 2010

http://news.stv.tv/politics/175128-general-election-2010-expected-scottish-declaration-times/

Not terribly accurate and only gives you a rough idea. IIRC Ayr declared around 0330 so it was an hour and a half out from the guide.

There's usually a race to be the first in the UK which is usually won by one of the Sunderland constituencies. They normally declare about 11pm

I don't believe it is a good thing. It just adds more shite on top of existing shite.

I don't hate the idea of a pro-independence publication, I just don't think it can, or you can, claim it is the voice of 45% of voters at an election. Atno point am I getting upset. I'm simply responding to your comment.

Well if you read my comment, I did compare it to The Mirror, a Labour supporting paper. I'm not saying it's any better or worse than these already biased papers, I'm simply suggesting it's insulting to normal thinking people that a tabloid paper spouting propaganda is their voice.

Gordon Brown is an utter clown of a man.

Yesterday's man.

Ex MP

Ex PM

Arguably the worst PM in history

Alleged bully

Led the UK into one of the worst financial crisis in history

Forgets to switch his microphone off

Can't even get a decent partisan crowd to come and see him in Cumnock.

Has already firmly been placed in the failure category of the history books

Pathetic sh1te by Brown. Utter pathetic. If you look at the details you will see that the SNP are being totally honest here. Ie they are not going to adjust figures that are already in the current spending yr as they have no influence in Westminster, any figures as of next yr show increased spending

Brown is a w@nk stain of a man.

During his time as chancellor he introduced the minimum wage, winter fuel allowance and child tax credits for working families. Great policies for the less well off.

How much did he sanction for murdering innocent iraqi children as a result of an illegal war. Not to mention, selling the UK gold and bankrupting the pension fund??

W@nkstain

He also oversaw the worst financial collapse in our history, which obviously affects the worst off in our society the most.

Labour might actually have my support if they weren't so incompetent.

The financial collapse was global and mostly caused by the banks.

Who was in control of regulating the banks in this country?

We were affected much more than most European countries, and Labour certainly didn't lead the recovery.
