Bobby Skidmarks
I hope Empire Strikes Back is still to come. I actually don't like Return of the Jedi very much. I'd be surprised if Empire doesn't make the top 5 tbh.
Quentin Taranbino
My number 1 pick Stand by Me still hasn't been out, hoping for a top 10 finish for it. I'll be seething if it didn't make the list at all
PrestersKTID
Jedi and Last crusade both in my top 10. Jedi one of only 2 films i've watched twice in a row. the other being fellowship of the ring.
Ludo*1
Anyone kept a list order so far? Don't have any of the Star Wars in my list. Gutted that I forgot about Stand By Me though. All time classic. Hope it makes the list.

All time classic. Hope it makes the list. Both in my top ten and still to come surely. Empire would probably be in my all time top 10 tbh. Spellbinding film that I've probably seen more than any other.
Albino Rover
Das Boot was on my short list but didn't make the final cut- it would probably make my top 20, and I'm not surprised to see it this high overall.

jagfox
"Bad news" "Is the war in Russia going badly? "No Schalke got beat 2-0" My favourite football reference in a film to date from Das Boot. Very good film. I recall it was shown as a mini series back in the day?

Co.Down Hibee
With the Nolan films being so good it's easy to forget just how good the Keaton Batman films were ,the original one with Nicholson as the Joker is outstanding. and in fairness Keaton was a surprisingly good Batman . Ira Gaines
Shouldn't have been surprising. Keaton is a terrific actor.
Co.Down Hibee
Shouldn't have been surprising. Keaton is a terrific actor. to be fair though it was a surprising choice at the time, he was better known for comedy than action, fully agree though he is an excellent actor. AberdeenBud
Absolute corker. Platoon has not aged well imo, could barely sit through it last time I watched it. No subtlety at all, some much more thoughtful and nuanced 'Nam films out there, but I suppose that's Oliver for you. The older I get the less I appreciate his films. Ira Gaines
I think Platoon is still a really good movie. Not a classic mind ye, but good. Stand by Me is a glorious movie. One of those ones that outdoes the book, or the short story in this case.
banana
Revisited Platoon 5 or 6 years ago and couldn't for the life of me see what all the fuss was about at release. Maybe we've just been spoiled for good war movies in the years since. Stand By Me is another good call that didn't make my top 10.
