happysouth
Anybody catch this tonight? Starring toby Jones and mackensie crook as metal detectorists. On BBC 4. I thought it was really good. Offbeat comedy with a wee bit of intrigue about what's to come.

banana
Just caught up with this, very inventive and brave writing to make such adorable television out of such a nerdy pasttime and characters. Second series on the way.

jimmy boo
That Mckenzie Crook guy was on something recently to 'promote' the new series...BBC breakfast or the one show or summat and he came across as a miserable torn faced depressive who didn't make any effort to encourage folk to watch it.

He was decent on the Danny Baker show a few weeks back. Hearing him on that persuaded me to watch the show. He did drop a pretty big spoiler in the interview though.

Takes these method actors a while to get out of character. Or he's a miserable cnut.

peasy23
Thoroughly enjoyed this series, but if it's finished fifth good then it's a good way to end it. Diana Rigg isn't wearing too well, didn't even realise it was her that was in it until the other night.

Didn't recognise her either, looks a lot younger than she did in Game of Thrones though.
