Clarkston5
Brilliant shouts on here. The beach scene at the end of Shawshank has a classic theme. To partner Once Upon a Time In America, this is Morriconne at his best

Sevennil
Gary Jules' version of Tears For Fears' Mad World in Donnie Darko works pretty well I reckon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL0rHIBYlY0 The opening sequence to Lars Von Trier's Antichrist film. It's probably better trying to find a video of the film's beginning to listen to it to though as it works a lot better whilst you're thinking about the storyline ahead. I haven't included it as it includes full intercourse shots and there's some on here in the precious PC brigade. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVlyzznCxkQ On the other side of the scale, I loved the entire The Matrix OST. With tracks from Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Deftones, etc it was, and still is, brilliant.

L. Brilliant
Lost in Translation has some of the best music on it, but best (/'most beautiful') soundtrack would depend how it works with the film... Opening scene of Antichrist really stayed with me and i've listened to Lascia ch'io pianga (sp) a lot since. The rest of the film doesn't have.anything else that i remember clearly though. I'll offer you Children of Men, tidy choral stuff to match the end-of-days feel of the film. Includes my favourite music ever by John Tavener who died last year.
