  1. Breathing space? Never tried it myself, but it could be what you're looking for.
  2. Here's a pretty in-depth post by a doc across the pond about the pro and cons of SSRI's (e.g. fluoxetine, citalopram). And some other advice on what you could try for depression.
  3. Finally nailed the Russian (elbow ) dips, triceps and chest are pretty pumped .
  4. How are you sleeping? I understand that you're worn out, most of my crap days are closely associated with how badly I've slept. You should be praised for seeking help. Medication is usually best paired with behavioural therapy like cbt /dbt , whether that's with a professional or a book.
  5. The UKIP woman is vile, unsurprisingly (as is Anna Soubry). She's piping in "Absolutely" when the guy complains too many people are going to Uni and don't need to for social mobility, having earlier said herself "I needed to go to University to progress."
  6. Anyone watching? Just flicked it on and noticed Tommy Shepard (sp?) on. Bickering over the budget (Personal view:is it just me or has the BBC website been under-reporting it?).
  7. I assumed Sarge was a MH professional. I just thought his quips, as crass as they may seem, were just a way of "helping" others see the bigger picture. Obviously it can go over your head and be counter-productive when you're a bit super-charged emotionally. I enjoy them though. Top bants.
  8. Corbyn spoke a lot of sense. It was the first time I've seen him on tv.
  9. Yea, shame the patients into taking their pills. That'll work.
  10. Did you end up getting it? I noticed it was on offer for £99. Apparently the hardware is really good for that price. Even more tempted now that I've read you can install Google Play (so you're not tired down to Amazon Appstore) and Now Launcher on to it
  11. Love me some bagels or breakfast cereal if I'm looking for carbs. Getting closer to my goal of muscle-ups. Can do single bar dips and L-sit pull ups so far.
  12. Just noticed Braehead Clan are participating in the Champions Hockey League this year. Could be an interesting match for a first timer (Me!)
  13. Random movie on Netflix, settled for Chef. Jon Favreau writes and direct this uplifting movie about a burnt out Chef, who gets a terrible review which becomes viral for not particular good reasons. He leaves his old job, goes mopey for a bit. Travels to Miami with his ex-wife, finds his joo-joo and starts a new life as a food-truck cook. This also re-kindles his relationship with his son when it was looking disastrous after Jon lost his job. Feel good film. Jon obviously has lots of celebrity friends helping out with the odd cameo role, Scarlett Johannsen, RD Jr, Dustin Hoffman to name a few. 6.5/10
  14. Anyone tried working with CBT/DBT books on their own for anxiety and depression? Just looking around amazon/library and there are tons! Would love some recommendations. Need some help towards insomnia too, as I'm trying to stray from these anti-anxiety meds that I've relied on thus far.
  15. The Room First time watching this cult film. What's not to enjoy from the over-sized suit jackets and weird character entrances, to the hot sweaty love-making and dramatic confrontational scenes. This movie deserves at least a run through. 6/10
  16. We need to talk about Kevin Noticed this was on iPlayer (didn't realise you could watch full length films on there!) and thought it was worth a punt. A creepy film with a distorted timeline showing the tumultuous relationship between mother and son, which leads to breaking point for the entire family. Eery flashbacks juxtaposed with present-day clips, leave you thinking wtf but heighten the the everlasting effects on Eva. Really enjoyable. Shocked that Tilda Swinton was ~50 at time of film. Stunning woman. 8/10.
  17. How short are everyone's short shorts? I'm tempted to get a pair, but a bit worried that the 2" ones will leave me a bit exposed. On the flipside, maybe it'll improve my speed.
  18. grand budapest hotel Ralph fiennes is brilliant as the exuberant Gustave. this film has the usual wes anderson quirky charm and warm characters . Didn't think ed norton fit his role though. 8/10 Got another wa film to look forward to (moonrise kingdom)
  19. Just watched QT, that bald yes voter Did anyone catch This week? I think Alex Salmond was on.
  20. Pint of Edelweiss, abroad in France at the eye-watering price of 9 Euros. Delicious draught with the slice of lemon. Pale with a good head and hints of banana.
  21. On a bit of a Jon Ronson phase at the moment (listening to his old Radio4 show too) after giving up on Bill Bryson's ASHOT (too many names, found it really dull). Reading Lost at Sea - The Jon Ronson Mysteries. A lot of weird stuff ranging from the alphas (an evangelical group who think they can speak tongues) and Robbie Williams and his UFO hobby to a town in Alaska called North Pole where everything is decorated in christmas stuff and men murdering their families etc.. Some stories are quickly glossed over and could be a bit more in depth but overall enjoyable.
  22. 6 different lacing methods to try out too
