Probably because they got  over 4 million votes at the general election.

Compare that to the 1.5 million votes the SNP got then you've probably got your answer right there.

Glad to be of service !

Compare that to the number of constituencies they stood in and it's pretty pathetic really.

I disagree with that analysis. They were  practically unheard of a few years ago and have taken British politics by storm and are the main  reason we are leaving the EU.

Even if you hate them, you would be daft to dismiss them so readily.

1.5 million is around a 25% of the votes available to the SNP.

4 million is a little over 6% of the votes available to UKIP.

Pedant !

Btw Ukip won the 2014 European elections as the party with most votes.......for a party only 20 or so years old that's impressive!

With not a single seat in Scotland.

Once again showing the clear disparity in values and influences of the voters north and south of the border.

Winning seats in a country that elected the BNP to Europe and council seats isn't that much to shout about.
Is it?

You condemn a nation of 45million people based on the voting history of a few thousand.......You should give yourself a talking to....Maybe go outside in to the real world for a bit. It isn't such a scary place!

BNP/UKIP, same thing different coloured logo.

So how come the BNP never got 4 million votes at any  election?

I'll tell you....because they were totally a different party  to UKIP with a completely different agenda.

You should know your enemy.

'Clever' little soundbites like yours are counter productive to  establishing the truth.

Well if you think the 800k+ and 900k+ they got in the 99 and 2004 European elections is 'a few thousand'

Unfortunate for them that the new racists on the block had nicer suits and bigger words in their vocabulary.
