Hillonearth
Is it just me or is a comedian's "funniness" inversely related to their "shoutiness"? Mostly, although I'd argue an honourable exception for Sam Kinison, who was great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ5-IjxuHxI
WaffenThinMint
Actually, are there any funny Welsh comedians? John Sparkes, responsible for Barry Welsh, Denzil, Albert b*****d & Frank Hovis in Absolutely.
LongTimeLurker
Most comedians nowadays are not bad. Some of the shite that was on TV 30 or 40 years ago had to be seen to be believed. Somebody called Squire Esquire on the BBC was particularly chronic. Listing comedians people will have heard of: 5 Ernie Wise (OK he was the straight man but so was Ronnie Corbett and he could occasionally be funny) 4 Frank Conner (Belfast commedian rather than Celtic's Ian Paisley lookalike) 3 Dara O'Briein (Frankie Boyle is a bit of a tosser but at least he is funny most of the time, but who gets to have a tv career?) 2 Cannon & Ball (just shite) 1 Jerry Seinfeld (wildly popular in North America but I could never understand why?) I will see your straight give-you-the-runs, and beat it with a pair of Royal Variety Show cnuts - Little & Large.
Shotgun
I will see your straight give-you-the-runs, and beat it with a pair of Royal Variety Show cnuts - Little & Large. So much this. As I was reading LTR's list (which was excellent, btw), I was wondering whether those two useless arseholes would show up on it. Generally, I just tune out people I don't care for but that pair used to genuinely make me seethe.

topcat(The most tip top)
John Sparkes brought a middle aged Siadwell back for a radio 4 series last year. It was great. Hampden Diehard
Sarah Millican - the voice and the general sameness of her material. Jo Brand can do cake & men-are-terrible jokes for an hour non-stop and still manages to be funny. Miranda - easily the unfunniest sit com on the box, which is some going. She is actually quite funny on panel shows, but in anything else she is deplorable. Russell Brand - p***k, pure and simple. His smile wants you punch the telly, and his general look is of someone who has never washed. Jimmy Carr - tax dodging cnut with a laugh that would have you punch him until your knuckles bled. Plus he's not really very funny. Alan Carr - would have been hilarious in the 1970s, but we've moved on past the "campness is so very, very funny" era.

Jamaldo
I might be wrong and can't be bothered checking but have we really gone five pages without mentioning Gina Yashere? Has she sunk so far without a trace that she can't even be mentioned in a thread about shit comedians? She pretty much based her entire act on her Nigerian heritage.

Like him or not, he is one of, if not the biggest comedian in Britain. He's a very able musician, both playing and writing. He's not the worst live singer about either, certainly not going to win any grammy's but I've heard worse from even chart toppers trying to sing live! He's also a pretty decent actor as well. I've seen him in numerous films and I've believed the character he is portraying, as opposed to watching and thinking "That's just Lee Evans being Lee Evans". I really like his material and would say he is my favourite comedian. I can appreciate that some won't find him amusing, but he's certainly not "talentless". Jamaldo
To be honest I don't agree with the frequent mentions of Lee Evans in this thread either. A few years ago I probably would have said he was my favourite comedian at that moment.
