Tony mowbary could have managed celtic to the title with the resources and situations they find themselves in right now , you can't really compare the scenarios as Deila does not have the pressure of being up against a strong/better rangers , the truth is had Deila got off to the start he had in a similar situation to when mowbary was at celtic he would have had the crowd screaming for him to get tae, and probably would not have lasted long after Christmas if celtic found themselves parped out of Europe and 9-15 points behind rangers. Also see le guen , the reason mowbary and le guen ultimately failed was because at rangers and celtic , the be all and end all was about being ahead of one and other and nothing else mattered , Deila is yet to face that kind of pressure and may not for a few years yet.

I take your point that if Rangers didn't die and we fell behind them there's a fair chance he would have been punted. But the fact that we have a bit of room for error at the minute means it was the perfect time to bring someone like Deila in to try and change the ethos of the club so we can see the benefits long term.

We were going nowhere under Lennon and it was right for him to go. Who were the options to replace him? Keane, Coyle, Mackay? Same old boring, prehistoric shite.

We have a young, progressive European manager who has new ideas and a different style to what we are used to. We are already seeing the benefits less than a year in. The players are fitter and we are more attractive to watch. Under Lennon it was a chore watching Celtic but now I'm looking forward to the games again. As I've said, there were always going to be bumps along the road. But I've seen plenty to suggest we are in an excellent position long term and Deila is finally starting to unite the support again.

I never said Deila was a bad manager , it was just unfair to compare him and mowbary's position , in actual fact I think celtic have done the right thing in going with a manager like Deila and infact should have maybe brought him or someone similar a season beforehand. Also what we should have looked to do in the 3rd division season but obviously that is a different topic for a different day . My point was had le guen or mowbary found themselves in the same position as Deila then they would have also won the title , but it just happened to be they were managers at a time when both clubs support had no time for patience and all that mattered was being in front of one another with long term plans not being taken into consideration. Deli as situation is incomparable and the reality is he would not have lasted had he found himself a distance behind a strong rangers

I never compared Deila and Mowbray. I compared Mowbray with McInnes.

Even say it's a tenth, it's still a massive achievement to still only be 5 points behind.

Or you could say Deila isn't as good as people are now saying he is. Up to you.

It's not as massive an achievement as you think. Second highest budget in the division, so anything less than second place is a massive failure like last season finishing third to a club with a fraction of your clubs budget. The division has been depleted of three big clubs and on paper you would expect to see a higher points tally this season. Celtic had a dodgy start to the season under a new manager and is the main factor your club is only 5 points behind and I'm glad they are too, fcuk this wan legged donkey race.

Deila ?, we'll see.

Well maybe I have picked you up slightly wrong , however the point still stands , if macinnes was manager of celtic he would still lead them to the title with the resources available as that pressure which mowbary crumbled under would not be there , hence why Deila has also had time to build his team and style without that pressure to hinder him.

I edited my reply a minute after I posted it to make what I was trying to say clearer it's taken you about an hour and a half to type out your reply after quoting me
