pandarilla
We are already in a better position than at any time at all during the entire referendum campaign, and have four years to make the case. This is the time to go for it, and people like you aren't helping. And there is a basic point of democracy you're right, so put it in the manifesto next year and let the people vote on it. At worst the SNP win and don't get a majority anyway its a no-risk venture and if they get a majority is a DEMOCRATIC mandate for another referendum. Of all you deranged posts fuzzy, I think this one might be my favourite.
QPSAFalkirkFirm
The 'people' won't decide. The Scottish and UK governments have to agree and sign on any referendum and after the close shave in September what Westminster career politician is going to take that chance again, especially if the predictions for this election and next year come close.? Cameron clearly thought the referendum would humiliate and destroy the SNP and it's been the very reverse. The SNP need to get other parts of England motivated for regional government via yet-to-be-formed regional parties and tip the balance in London. See, as ever, if you have any substantive points of disgreement, lets hear them. Everything I said there is factually perfect. Not good, perfect. Flawless. I'm Brian
The Scottish people have NEVER been in favour of independence, ever. The YES camp had all the momentum going into the referendum but it turned nasty with cyber ants and fighting in George Square etc. Another referendum could start a civil war in Scotland as the desperate YES camp try to bully and threaten their way to victory. Once in a lifetime, or even a generation is more than enough. As for the EU referendum we voted as a bloc in 1975 so should respect the bloc vote if and when the EU vote happens, although I doubt it will. MassiveFanDan
There was a poll a few weeks after the ref showing support for independence had risen to 52%. Everybody gets brave once the battle's past. Still wouldn't rush into another ref too soon though. Use whatever power we can get at Westminster to lay the groundwork for divvying up the central bank and so forth, if possible. Then wait for the right moment.

RabidAl
We are already in a better position than at any time at all during the entire referendum campaign, and have four years to make the case. This is the time to go for it, and people like you aren't helping. And there is a basic point of democracy you're right, so put it in the manifesto next year and let the people vote on it. At worst the SNP win and don't get a majority anyway its a no-risk venture and if they get a majority is a DEMOCRATIC mandate for another referendum. The SNP's position in terms of projected seats at this election seems to be more about Scots' pragmatism than it is about more people looking for independence. It has that in common with the outcome of the referendum: the voters who swing the result were/are thinking in terms of what is in their own best interests. Referendum - they voted 'no' because there were/are too many unknowns (e.g. currency and EU membership) that may have negatively affected their prosperity; election 2015 - vote SNP because they will get a better deal for Scotland than any 'Scottish' Labour/Tory/Lib-Dem party and so positively affect their prosperity. So another referendum soon would likely be another defeat because the dominance of the SNP in Scotland doesn't reflect an upsurge in nationalist sentiment, and would kill the prospects of independence for some time to come. As Sturgeon said when questioned by Glenn Campbell the other night - it would take a 'material change' in circumstances for them to put another referendum on the table any time soon. They might go into the 2016 Scottish election with a manifesto offering a referendum on that basis, with rUK voting to leave the EU whilst Scots vote to stay (in a 2017 EU referendum) being an example of such a game-changer.
