Fide
He's now getting criticised by his own frontbencher for not singing the anthem They really, really don't want him there, eh? As a republican and an atheist, why should he sing it? Would his colleagues and the electorate rather have someone unprincipled and willing to force themselves to be false in charge? MarkoRaj
George Galloway says he would have sung it. Some irish republican he is I can't get over how much coverage this has had. Nicky Morgan says it's an "important part of being British", I'm not sure I would agree with that.

DA Baracus
I'd genuinely love to see that used, outside of the name calling. Nah, leave the name calling in. It would be fantastic. 'Gammon faced c**t' had me chuckling heartily. Top insulting.

George Galloway's need to have his ego stroked means he'll do whatever impresses or gets him in the limelight. He has less morals than a german porn star. I think most Labour folk want to say whatever it is that will get them elected.
Quentin Taranbino
Why do people in the background at PMQs just stand up randomly on both sides at various points?

MEADOWXI
Why do people in the background at PMQs just stand up randomly on both sides at various points? If you are standing you want to ask a follow up question to what has just been asked, and the Speaker will randomly select someone standing and then sitting as the Pm is about to answer. Supplementary questions aren't taken often and the gimps just use it as an excuse to get seen on TV trying to look like they are doing something. Unless JC will actually be singing the anthem continuously, which would probably be the preference of most Labour MPs.

YassinMoutaouakil
It was an absolutely moronic thing to do tbh, refusing to sing the national anthem in his first day as Leader of the Opposition is just nonsense. I'm an atheist republican as well but he's just shooting himself in the foot by being a dick over a pretty meaningless thing.

If he was giving it the James McLean and drawing attention to himself you would have a point but he stood respectively. However, having watched Sturgeon painfully mumble the dirge last week, it does seem like there isn't much harm in playing along for the sake of political expediency. There are a lot of Britnat morons that he has to convince that he is prime minister material
welshbairn
He would rightfully been slagged off for being a hypocrite if he had sang it. A republican singing "Long may she reign over us" ffs? He did the right thing, stood up, looked sombre in memory of the airmen, and remained silent. If he crawls through all the hoops the utterly livid establishment have set up for him in toadying fashion, he won't last till Christmas. If he stands by his principles while making reasonable pragmatic compromises he has a chance. Singing God save the Queen wasn't one of them, there would have been cartoons in the Torygraph and Mail tomorrow taking the pish, as there will be anyway.
