Boostin' Kev
Will wait for the reviews tbh, will be looking for a new open world game once I'm done with GTA. Was going to buy Fallout 4.

Boostin' Kev
I know what you mean. Will probably get Fallout first then get NMS when it comes down in price.

Dindeleux
Wasn't at at all interested in this but was watching people streaming it on Twitch last night and it looks amazing - both in terms of landscape and things to do. I found myself wishing that the person playing would turn the next corner or "just go over there" so I could see more stuff.

Depending on what the planet you're on is like, your thermal protection on your exosuit needs to be recharged, so you'll need to mine minerals for that. That's a thing you;ll need to do constantly, but it's manageable. You'll also mine for your ship's propulsion system, warp drive etc. You can catalogue and name flora and fauna, visit colonial outposts, processing plants, look for shelter, seek out ancient alien monoliths, feed animals, that sort of thing. I had big Ubisoft fatigue and can't bear playing another Far Cry / Assassin's Creed. This is a little bit Ubisoft, but not enough to put me off. Hopefully it isn't an issue for me 20+ hours in, because I'm smitten so far.

Dindeleux
Get a PS4. Then get it. Srsly. I have considered it over the last 24 hours to be honest. I would actually need to sneak a PS4 into my house or I'd get stabbed by my girlfriend.

Boostin' Kev
Cheers got a bit bored after 5 mins though. Will probably end up buying it at some point out of curiousity.

Even the Witcher 3, which I ended up thinking was the best game ever made, I almost gave up on early on because it didn't engage me. One of my favourite parts of Skyrim, Fallout, games like that was always the exploration of new areas, so could well be my sort of game. At the moment my home internet's been dead since Friday night (fucking Openreach) so wouldn't be much point ordering it now. Think I'll get it Thursday or Friday though, have it for the weekend. Unless I see something horrendous coming out in the reviews, which seems unlikely at the moment. I want so badly to get into The Witcher 3 but I can't enjoy it because of how small the writing is on the screen. This despite having a 50" telly and sitting only about eight feet away from it.

I had the small text problem with a few games and it turned out it was because I had set my PS4 to output at 1080p instead of the 1080i/720p that my telly can take.
Kris.
Had to cancel my pre-order as our cat has been in and out of the vets over the last couple of weeks and has left me a little short on spare cash...but I think I might just be able to get this after all. I watched TheRadBrad's gameplay of it this morning and it looks pretty good, although like another poster had said I found myself wanting him to go off an explore more so I could see more of it. Don't think it's a game that will be particularly enjoyable to just watch someone else play.
