Down in the 2.Bundesliga Bochum return to the top flight after just over a decade away & Holstein Kiel come up for the first ever time in the Bundesliga era. Greuther Fürth take the playoff spot. Hamburg to the amusement of everyone remain in purgatory.

Not quite yet. I don't think Bochum are officially promoted. I think any of the three teams could still win the league or finish as low as 3rd. Only thing that is certain is that HSV will not be going up.

Marc Schnatterer plays his last game for Heidenheim tomorrow against his old club, Karlsruhe. Spent 13 years at FCH - not clear if he will retire or play on. He's already been guaranteed a job with FCH when he retires.

Manuel Gräfe forced to retire at 47, shame as he seemed like one of the better refs and with a laid back style, should've been allowed to keep going if he's fit enough.

Haaland swapped shirts with him at the weekend and there's a funny twitter thread as well.

A 3-1 win for VfL Osnabrück in the 2nd leg of the BL2/Dritte Liga play-off.

2-0 up after 20 minutes, but Ingolstadt's away goal after half an hour meant that 3 goals were still required to go through. 3-1 in the 81st minute, but despite a bit of huffing & puffing was not to be & FC Ingolstadt return to BL2 after having been relegated in the 2018/19 season.

Quite a sad story to read . Glad it's out in the open. I presume this is quite a common thing for players coming to Europe from Africa

Utterly grim. Hopefully he and his family are ok now and something can be done to make sure his old club in Congo get a few quid.

Fixtures announced earlier for the top 2 leagues.

Bundesliga kicks off on Friday 13th August with Borussia Mönchengladbach hosting Bayern Munich.

BL2 starts 3 weeks earlier with relegated Schalke 04 hosting SV Hamburg.

H96 start with an away day to Bremen in the 1st of many Nord-Derbies/Duels in the coming season.

1st home game for H96 sees them play promoted Hansa Rostock.

No word as yet regarding fans (and number of) at games. H96 currently holding back from putting season tickets on sale, opting initially for sales on a game by game basis, with a reduced season ticket being offered once Corona restrictions allow. Numbers per 100K in Lower Saxony currently 3,7.

For sake of completeness TSV Havelse from the Nord league grabbed the last 3.Liga spot after seeing off Bayern League 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 2-0 on aggregate.

Havelse now without a trainer, as Jan Zimmermann had already signed a contract to join H96 after the play-offs.

Havelse's stadium, the Wilhelm-Langrehr-Stadion, isn't up to scratch as regards 3. Liga requirements. For this reason they will be playing their home games at H96's HDI-Arena / Niedersachsenstadion.
