Bundesliga 2024/25

Recommended Posts

Freiburg have announced they‘ll be playing first 3 home Bundesliga games of the new season at the old stadium. Problems with electrics and media facilities in the new stadium mean it’s the Dreisamstadion for Dortmund, Köln and Augsburg. First league game in new stadium now set to be Leipzig in mid October.

Looking forward to yet another season of chronic underachievement by Hertha, possibly including at least two managerial changes, gubbing one of the top four in Berlin followed by a humping by a bottom three side, and flirting with relegation until at least week 33, again.<_<

Sometimes wish we could just be proper shite like HSV for a bit, instead of this thing where there's a new manager buzz, a heap of signings, talk of loads of cash to spend, and they still turn out to be totally mediocre.

Showing Borussia Monchengladbach Vs Bayern Munich opening Friday @ 7:30pm, then Borussia Dortmund Vs Eintracht Frankfurt at 5:30pm Saturday.

Super Cup between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on the Tuesday night after the opening weekend also being shown.

The press release indicates it'll only be the Saturday 5:30pm game each week that will be regularly broadcast, does mention extra matches may be shown but Friday nights don't appear to be regularly planned

Away from the quantity of games shown  the BT coverage was shite, at least we might see some studio analysis around games with Sky.

Isn't Sky the German domestic rights holder over there, ready made set-up there to lean on.

Sky get Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Friday & Sunday are DAZN. That covers not just Germany but also Switzerland, Austria & Liechenstein.

Good news imo. Scottish Premiership and Bundesliga on the same platform, no reason for me to subscribe to anywhere else really. A lot of journos on twitter seem sure the deal will involve the friday night game, Saturday evening game and the 2 sunday games moving forward (I realise that detail was absent in Skys announcement)

First round of the DFB-Pokal over the weekend. Most games went as expected but a couple of upsets.

3rd division Mannheim knocking out Eintracht Frankfurt

3rd division Osnabrück knocking out Werder Bremen (2nd division this year)

One game still to be played, namely Bremer against Bayern Munich. Due to a Corona outbreak in the Bremer squad plus Munich's other commitments, the game won't be played until the 25th August. Draw for the 2nd round will take place on the 29th.

2nd round games take place over the last weekend in August.

Did you mean 19th as 29th is the Sunday of that last weekend.
