German Jag
Moved to Germany in December 1990. A then colleague took me to my first ever game which was St. Pauli against Dortmund in the Millerntor Stadium before it got upgraded. Just 16.500 in attendance that day saw Dortmund win 2-0, with there being PATG. Something which would be considered unthinakble nowadays for St. Pauli home-games (and also Dortmund games in general). As regards yesterday's game, as previously mentioned a sell-out, with 2.800 Hannoveraner making the trip north. Away end sold out in a matter of minutes. 1-0 for St. Pauli as Ron-Robert Zieler could only parry a shot into the space in front of him which Lukas Daschner took full advantage of. 10 minutes later St. Pauli doubled their lead. Initially given as offside, but given as a goal after a VAR check. Was down the far end away from the away block so not able to make comment at the game. H96 down to 10 men with half an hour to go after Neumann got a 2nd yellow. Result leaves H96 8 points off the play-off spot. So basically treading water and looking to pick up enough points to avoid getting caught up in a relegation fight. Next up a home game against Paderborn who'll be looking to keep their own promotion/play-off hopes alive.
German Jag
H96's miserable run of form since the start of the return round of fixtures continued with a 3-4 defeat at home to Paderborn. Off to a flyer with Cedric Teuchert scoring twice in the 1st 4 minutes. 2-0 became 2-1 in the 6th minute, then all further downhill from there. Next up, an away trip to bottom of the table Regensburg. Need some points on the board to avoid getting sucked into a relegation / play-off scenario.
Pie Of The Month
Got to see a Jackson Irvine goal and an 88th minute winner from the away end at Magdeburg with St Pauli. Also went to Braunschweig last night and happy to report the 96 burnt into the centre circle is gone. Genuinely one of the best set of fans I've been in with, almost pulled off a comeback from 3-0 but finished 3-2 in the end. Todd_is_God
Huge opportunity for Union Berlin to return to the Bundesliga summit tomorrow, and extend the record they already hold of the most weeks a former DDR Oberliga side has spent at the top of the Bundesliga. Union have a terrible record against teams at the bottom of the Bundesliga, though, having drawn and lost to Greuther Fürth last season (arguably missing out on a CL spot as a result) and already lost to Bochum earlier this season so 3 points here is not a given. With a trip to Munich next week, a win tomorrow would heap even more pressure on Bayern.
Guest
Big if I know, but Union being two wins away from being 5 points clear of Bayern going into March is quite something

FK1Bairn
That's a sublime cheeky goal from Adeyemi! Not a fan of Dortmund playing at home in anything but yellow top, I assume that's a marketing thing
Grangemouth Bairn
3 teams on the same points at the top and 5 separating the top 6 is what football should be like.
German Jag
Regensburg is H96's furthest trip this season (ca. 685 mile return).Despite the journey and the current miserable run of form, ca. 1.000-1.100 fans made the journey (one of which was forum regular @PWL). DEspite Regensburg's position at the end of the table they were a very strong & stuffy side and over ran H96 in the 1st half going in at half-time deservedly 1-0 up. 2nd half H96 upped their game with numerous chances. All looked to be going tits up when the hosts got a penalty in the 55th minute which Ron Robert-Zieler duly saved. A deserved point was secured courtesy of a beautiful taken volley from Cedric Teuchert on the edge of the box in the 88th minute. Next up home to FC Magdeburg on Sunday. Ca. 10.000 away fans expected. In view of their fan-friendship with Eintracht Braunschweig plus the fighting and shenanigans at the first game, should mean for a massive police presence. German Jag
H96's god awful start to the year continued with a 2-1 defeat in their 1st ever home game (1st team) against 1. FC Magdeburg. Just over 10.000 away fans (would've been ca 1.500 Braunschweig fans amongst them) in attendance. Magdeburg have been down at the arse end of the table all season. The game in August in Magdeburg was a stroll in the park for H96 as they cruised to an easy 4-0 win. Massive turnaround on Sunday, as Magdeburg deservedly took all 3 points. To use an awful cliche, Magdeburg 'wanted' it more and H96 only really got going once they were already 2-0 down. Next up a long return trip to Fürth.

German Jag
A fairly tedious 1-1 draw in Fürth which doesn't do much for either team's desire to get some serious distance from the relegation spots. H96 took the lead with a well taken strike from Hendrick Weydandt in the 54th minute. Any thoughts of sneaking away with all 3 points quickly snuffed out as Fürth equalised courtesy of a penalty 3 minutes later. 1.100 Hannoveraner in attendance. Next up home to Rostock, followed by the derby game in Braunschweig. Was able to get a ticket for Braunschweig on Friday morning. 2.100 tickets gone in 90 seconds.
