William Hill Scottish Cup 2015-16 - Big Thread

Surely the mighty Auchinleck Talbot didn't draw with the so called 'Kids Team with no fans.':lol::lol:

They are a kids team and ... they have no fans so you are correct.

The buggest fluke since Arbroath drew with Celtic.

5-1 in the replay.

^^^ Actual Tears

There isn't such things as flukes in sports, recent form in the cups from Juniors (except Linlithgow Rose) have done nothing to warrant their place in the cup and after a promising start junior teams are joining the likes of Glasgow Uni and Coldstream as early round cannon fodder.

I think today's results just show how strong the highland league is in comparison to the others ie juniors lowland. Some surprising results and well done Fort William!

Celtics goal was an Arbroath OG in the 1-1 draw!!! Celtic were flukey!!!!!!

I for one am shocked* that the Junior champions struggled to a 2-2 draw with a lowland team that's been in existence for a whole 2 years......

* not shocked in slightest

Bo'ness beating Selkirk 4-0 away, Hurlford winning 3-0 and 7-1 away to Inverurie Locos and Clachnacuddin, Talbot beating Buckie Thistle 5-0 last season?

Reading 'Bot fans on Facebook - very magnanimous and also critical of team showing today (as with last season's defeat to Edinburgh City) - a far cry from 'Cabe's comments (a great guy and poster, just very wrong on this).

I don't entirely disagree with your post to be honest!

Having fans or no fans is irrelevant on the field of play. Edinburgh City were a good side and deserved their win over us last year and the fact they are watched by 2 men and a dug doesn't really come to it. BSC competed well today but in my honest assessment are a good bit short of Edin City, a fact reflected in their respective league positions.

Talbot have had a stuttering start to the season, great in some games, indifferent in others, and today was one of the indifferent ones.

Do you practice being a w****r or is it something that comes naturally to you?

Beith 8 Glasgow Uni 1 with 8 different scorers when we played the school team.

Good post with some good examples (Ignoring that Selkirk are a disgrace of a team and bo'ness losing 5-0 to Arbroath in the same year), but Auchinleck have done nothing other than get a 'fluke' against Stranraer and considering the fanfare they get every year, losing to Edinburgh City and drawing with a team that is younger than Sevco as well as Kelty, Hermes and Banks o'Dee going out with a whimper suggests that Junior teams no longer have that fear factor compared to a few years ago. some Lowland teams and some EOS are a lot better than certain people give credit for.

Do you bring anything to offer other than abuse, since the creation of the Lowland League, Junior teams haven't got as easily to the the 4th round compared to getting big games against Premiership/ Championship teams, Glasgow Uni aren't a proper example of anything, just about every team could have thumped them. It's pretty obvious to see that the other non league teams have largely caught up (and perhaps overtaken in some cases) the junior teams, their inclusion has brought the standard up to an extent along with other factors but it seems that juniors have outlived their usefulness.

Would still rather watch Juniors than rip off Lowland League.

£10 entrance and £4 a programme?

Total rip off merchants.

Auchinleck were beaten by Stranraer and have yet to beat a national-level team.
