The Terrible Journalism & Tom English Thread

Recommended Posts

Last night I checked the BBC website to see who Bonnyrigg would play next and instead of Bonnyrigg Rose/Dumbarton v Hibs it had tbc v Hibs. It actually had tbc as the opposition for the 3 or 4 ties still to be resolved so you had absolutely no idea which of those teams they would be playing. You obviously wouldn't even know who the tbc teams are. Quite unreal.

Found this, read about five replies, regretted it. They seemed to think he was a journalistic great in the making.

The absolute nerve of Rangers fans complaining about a 'bigoted backwater.'

Steelmen boss Mark McGhee claimed not to know Curtis Davies’ name

McGhee obviously isn't the only one who doesn't have a clue who the Celtic number 2 is.

From the BBC (obviously)

Quote

Striker Alvaro Morata's 20-yard drive shortly after the restart appeared to ease the tension among the home fans.

However, Depor substitute Joselu - on loan from English Premier League side Stoke - swung the match dramatically in favour of the visitors.

He powered in the equaliser with a rising drive into the top-left corner after on-loan Aston Villa midfielder Carles Gil dispossessed Casemiro on the edge of his penalty area.

And Joselu, who came through the ranks at the Bernabeu, increased the nervousness by pouncing on more defensive uncertainty to slot home.

But the drama did not end there.

Real equalised with six minutes left when substitute Mariano Diaz scored his first La Liga goal with a fortuitous effort that flew in off his shoulder.

Then, skipper Ramos - whose late equaliser earned Real a vital draw at Barcelona last weekend - headed in Toni Kroos' corner to spark jubilant celebrations at the Bernabeu.

It would appear Deportivo equalised and then Real equalised later on.

What? Morata scored. Joselu equalised. Joselu scored again. Diaz equalised for Real. Ramos scored the winner.

I didn't realise Joselu had scored twice. My bad then.
